I'm looking to buy an edc knife and I'm coming to you guys because I don't know much about which knives are quality, which aren't etc. I'd like a pocket knife that is the least noticeable and threatening as possible (its for edc at college - don't want to freak anyone out if they see I have a knife on a school campus). The school allows pocket knives shorter than 4 inches. Any good suggestions for someone on a relatively low budget?

saks are the most accepted knives I can think of.
Love my alox soldier:

You can also get the Vic Camper or Tinker for $20 at big box stores.

What could be less threatening than a Swiss Classic? I carry swiss classic on my keys and a swisschamp in a belt holster. The classic is quite handy for the most part. MiniChamp, basically the same size, might be another option as you need to be able to open beer!

I like my Leatherman, but how about a Spyderco Dragonfly? Smaller than the Delica, but with surprising cutting power.

Kershaw Rainbow Chive

ETA just saw limited budget. Kershawguy usually has blems, but only a rainbow leek at this time.

Try an Opinel #6 in either carbone, or stainless for about $12 or so. Very light and extremely easy to maintain and keep sharp with a minimum of equipment. If you really need all the extra blades and gadgets with your knife, then the Victorinox is the answer. Both are sheeple friendly.

Blessings,

Omar

Spyderco Chaparral for a bit over a hundred. Best I've found for your purpose.
OR check out the Spyderco Sage series...you have four or five you might like. All non-threatening to pinko professors.
However, I bought my grandkid a Spyderco ParaMilitary 2, which has a 3.3" blade. Very acceptable at Penn State. This is my all-time favorite folder.

SAK spartan. It has a bottle opener and a corkscrew, which at some point in your college career will make you the most popular person at some social gathering.

+1 on the Swiss Army Knives, I also have one in alox (silver handle). Use it everyday. If you want a fancier, try the asisted opening kershaw leek or go to A G Russell website for some nicer patterns, be aware they are made in China, but good fair quality.

Victorinox bantam. So lightweight you'll forget it's in your pocket, non threatening, opens mail and cuts anything you'll need on a school campus. The combo tool will open cans or bottles, as well as deals with screws. Best of all, it's about 12 dollars from the internet knife sales places.

In college I carried an 890 Torrent

But non threatening? Just got to wear it and rock it. I got asked all the damn time why I had a knife on me (went to a small "safe" college too) and you know those were the same people that kept asking to use it.

If it meets the schools requirement for blade length, I personally wouldn't care how noticeable it is
