I also support it. Thank you for taking a proactive step in making this place even better than it already is.
I just want to make this clear; I don't expect thanks for correcting people when they break the rules. Cliff was given plenty of chances (or rope) and he finally just went too far.
Cliffs problem in my opinion is that although he was somewhat knowledgeable he could not resist insulting peoples livliehood..Many found this offensive including myself..
I agree, and this complaint has been voiced repeatedly. Unfortunately, often times Cliff had science on his side. I don't like squelching discussion unnecessarily, and if I don't know whether the science is right I'm going to refrain from jumping into such a discussion.
Personal insults have long been against the rules though and I don't have to take crap from a freeloader.
Spark, you tolerated him far longer than necessary in your little kingdom that we all appreciate and use for our own needs. This alone speaks to your capacity for forgiveness, or at least being entertained by the court jester.
Thanks for noticing this. I'll put up with a lot of crap from people that I really shouldn't, even to the point where I'll take a hit or three without making waves because life is too short... but everyone has their limits.
When people have brought up Cliff in the past, I've always said that if he was calling someone a liar, and that wasn't true,
stand up to him and make him prove it. If the facts didn't support his case, I'd happily ban him. Unfortunately, nobody stood up. Such is life.
I'm going to close this thread; I don't enjoy the idea of getting kudos for just doing the job you are supposed to. Thanks for the support anyhow guys.
