Good quality field/combat Knife?

Take a look at an esee-6 or esee-5 they both come with an amazing sheathing system and an amazing warranty you will likely never use

Beat me to it! Made for survival and military usages these knives are at home chopping down a tree or....well I won't go into the military considerations of what you can chop off with them but suffice to say not only is it a good knife for all of it, the lifetime warranty makes it a winner hands down!

I think this is a good choice as well but why didn't your unit issue you a knife OP? Just wondering since you are looking at all these uses.

Go for the A1 man. Super tough with amazing edge qualities, stainless, handle is comfy and very grippy when wet. It's one of my personal favorites. My big brother ran with it during one of his deployments and could not say enough good things about it. I'm not a fan of the sheath, however, you may want to find some better kydex or pick up a Spec-Ops nylon rig for it like I did.
