Good tactical suggestions for cheap

I scored a CRKT Viva gift pack for $9 on clearance at my local Wally World. It had a Viva multitool and a large Drifter in stainless handles. Great knife built tough. Big enough for tactical applications IMO. Love mine a lot!

As others have mentioned, the Kershaw-Emerson CQC collabs.

Dirt cheap and should stand up to some good honest use.
The steel might not be all that but that is where the low low price comes into play.

I bought one and its excellent bang for your bucks.

If you get a Kershaw CQC, make sure it's a 6 or higher. I haven't had much luck with the lower numbered models.

Well I definitely have a lot of good sounding suggestions now. It'l more come down to availability

I like the look of the thermite. Do ou know if they have them at Wally World?

I have one that is new in the box that I'll sell for $25 shipped. Great knife I bought several and I'm still using the first one. PayPal F&F would be great. I can ship tomorrow.

Some really good suggestions thus far. You may want to also consider the new Kershaw Natrix for about $13 more. FF to 3.50

Check out the Lanky Evader. $19.99 is the list price. I picked one up at my local New England hardware chain store, they were blowing them out at the register for $4.99!! I figured it would be something I'd beat the snot out of and not care about. Turns out that it is built like a brick. Nothing I'd normally buy, but for less than $5 I couldn't not buy it and stuff it away in a glove box, table box, saddlebag, etc. Turns out my wife swiped it from me for a thing she does at a bunch of local farms harvesting vegetables for food shelves. She brings it back all muddy, and banged up but after a quick rinse, a blast of air and a quick pass or two on a stone it is raring to go. I think it is well worth $20, definitely a no brainer for $5. Seen them several times for that price. Check it out!

I've never seen a Thermite at Wal-Mart, but stock can vary from store to store. The Thermite has been discontinued, I think...so they might be harder to find soon.

Ontario RAT Model 1 or Utilitac, ESEE Avispa, Kershaw Freefall, Kershaw Valmara, Kershaw Entropy, Kershaw Clash (you see where I'm going here...check out Kershaw, lots of choices for around $25).

Meyerco has very cheap versions of models by Greg Lightfoot, Kirby Lambert, and Jeff Hall. They're heavy (steel liners) and a little rough around the edges. But they're solid performers for very low prices. Like under $20 with Amazon Prime.

I've got a Meyerco Lightfoot Catch Dog. The blade centering and grind symmetry are actually better than some Emersons I've owned (no joke).

I keep it in the tool roll in the trunk of my car. It's a great toolbox knife for when I've got to do rough work that I wouldn't want to subject my "good" EDC knife to: scraping paint, stripping wires, cutting steel-reinforced exhaust hangers, and trimming indoor-outdoor carpet for example. Not going to subject my Sebenza or Microtch LCC to that kind of abuse.

I would assume the grinds are more symetrical than any Emersons you see considering the fact that all Emersons have a chisel edge grind, if not a chisel primary grind

Check out the Cold Steel Pro Lite series. I love what they do with clip points and tantos. Good strong knife too.

They offer almost every model with a "double-v grind" as an option. I've owned very many Emersons over the years and haven't been impressed by fit-and-finish, especially considering the price.

Check out the Byrd Cara Cara 2, I doubt walmart carries them in store but you can order it from them and pick it up in store. Tactical is kind of a blanket term and could mean many different things but I guess the Cara Cara could be tactical.

This.

If you don't want to do site to store, look at their Kershaw models. Stay away from the ultra cheap ones though. They make some walmart exclusives that have the edge retention of a sharpened paper clip. They'll all be around $10 though.

When i think of tactical i think of CRKT knives.

they scream tactical with their design, coloring etc.

M16 is quite tactical looking and affordable
