Goodwill store Sebenza 25!!

Goodwill site says they don't accept knives.

Items We Cannot Accept
It's hard to say "no thank you" to a donation when those donations help to fund Goodwill programs. However, we do need to refuse some items for being non-recyclable or containing hazardous materials. Other times, the item must be refused because it costs more to transport, repair or refurbish than it can be sold for in our stores. Our donation attendants are trained to know what we can and cannot accept, and will help guide you to other possibilities for donations we cannot use.

We cannot accept the following items:

  • CRT and DLP TVs, or rear-projection flat screen HDTVs
  • CRT Computer Monitors
  • Cribs
  • No household chemical products such as pesticides, paint, paint thinner, drain cleaner, oven cleaner, aerosols and other environmentally-unfriendly waste products.
  • No automotive hazardous waste such as tires, lead acid batteries, additives, gasoline, oils, antifreeze, etc.
  • No large appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, stoves/ovens, washers/dryers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, furnaces, microwaves, trash compactors, water heaters, large console stereos, freon-based appliances, etc.
  • No personal care items such as shampoo, conditioner, nail polish remover, shaving cream, hairsprays, shavers, curling irons
  • No fragrance items
  • No mattresses/box springs, including waterbed mattresses and waterbed frames
  • No carpet or carpet padding
  • No plumbing fixtures or building materials
  • No traditional recyclables such as glass, newsprint, office paper, cardboard, plastics, magazines, junk mail, etc.
  • No weapons such as guns, bows and arrows, ammunition, hunting knives, etc.
  • No cribs, car seats, walkers or other products that do not meet the current safety standards of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, including recalled items.

I've never bought a CRK for that price.
No doubt it's the real deal.

Somewhere out there, a husband is severely pissed.
Another possibility is that the person it belonged to passed away, and it was given to Goodwill by a wife or relative who has no concept of its worth.

*Wait:
I just saw Jill's post. Is it possible a Goodwill employee made a mistake?

Jim

what can I tell you, I told my wife that it came out to $25 per knife, lol

Interesting, had no idea goodwill was using the auction method. I guess it makes sense. Seems like a few other guys may have recognized the Sebenza as well, but probably weren't sure if it was real, and let you take the lot at $200.

This website doesn't seem to be directly linked to goodwill.org, which is the institution we are all familiar with.

Goodwill says they don't take knives.

The Goodwills in my town have knives and machetes etc in the glass case. They have a lot of other stuff on that list also.

The site said no “hunting knives” or “weapons.” Ive seen dozens of “prohibited” items for sale, and I’ve seen tons of garbage sold for high prices at goodwill. Their employees are not taken from the top grads at MIT, Harvard, and Stanford, either.

According to what is posted above, Goodwill does not accept hunting knives. This does not include tactical...

I did alot of research on sebenza 25's on youtube and google, then looked into clones and by copying the picture online into paint I was able to zoom in on characteristics. Did the same thing with the victorinox.

I can't believe I found this knife at goodwill.
. . . noooooo . . . nah . . . NAHHHH . . .
Oh MAN !
I'm thinking somebody's Ex sure was pissed at said CRK owner . . .
hahahah took all his / her stuff to Goodwill and left town.

Oh man, oh man, oh man.
!
Good going.
What cha' going to do for your next trick ? find gold bricks from Fort Knox under the bridge after the homeless get run off ? !

Maybe Goodwill has more sense than Canada. Their policy states that they done take WEAPONS such as guns, knives, etc.

I didn't see any WEAPONS in that bundle. That must be it.

The Goodwills in my town have knives and machetes etc in the glass case. They have a lot of other stuff on that list also.

As does mine. They're all crap though.
