Got any good Latin sayings?

Carpe Carnum - seize the flesh - appropriate both at the dinner table and at the bar ;)

nemo me impune lacessit - I forget the exact translation but it's something along the lines of 'Noone insults me with impunity'. Basically saying go ahead and get me, but know that I'm going to get you back.

So just what did Gus' sign say in Lonesome Dove?

"For all you know that might be an insult. Somebody might start shootin' at us."

"By God, I hope so, Woodrow. I always wanted to be shot at by an educated man."

How about the Latin verbal duel between Johnny Ringo and Doc Holliday in Tombstone?

Doc Holliday: In vino veritas.
(In wine there’s truth.)

Johnny Ringo: Age quod agis.
(Attend to the work you have at hand.)

Doc Holliday: Credat judaeus sotella non ego.
(Only the naive believe it, not I.)

Johnny Ringo: Eventis sultorum magister. (As he pats his gun)
(Experience is the teacher of fools.)

Doc Holliday: In pace requiescata. (With a Cheshire Cat smile)
(May he rest in peace.)

I'm not sure about you folks, but them's fightin' words where I come from!

:D

I love this scene, but what I think is great is the city cop's reply after their little conversation. He says, "Look boys, we don't want any trouble here, not in any language."

Maybe it's me, but I damn near fall out of my chair every time I watch that scene (which is quite often since I'm a Tombstone junkie).
