Got any tips for the woods?

That idea with the eye screws is good idea.
Like those above this post suggested.
-Duct tape can be also used for your feet to cover hotspots. I never thought about TP for that too?

-Numerous ways to make fire, water purification, and multiple forms of tinder.

-I always put all my stuff in zip lock bags. So that everything is has it's place and waterproof. Beside you can use Ziplock for an alternate water storage if needed.

-BRIGHT Yellow Duct tape on all tools that you bring(dual purpose on this one). I can't count how many time I put something down and do something. Only turn back and I can't find it right away. You can use the duct for something else too.

-Lithium Batteries in all electronics(especially flashlights or GPS!). They seem to be unaffected by cold weather.

Oh and know first-aid just in case anybody gets hurt.

-A P38 or P50 for a can opener and other uses such as a scrapper. It's small and weighs nothing.
I'm sure I have missed a bunch of things too.

Garbage bags are handy to put your pack inside if it is supposed to be a heavy rain.

forget that, they make great sleeping mats (when filled with insulation)
ponchos, windbreakers, sleeping bag, pillow, shelter, tarp to lay down your cooking utensils, food on.
carying water, trash, debris to make a shelter, keeping your feet dry and other goods.

These are just a couple I could think of, off the top of my head, I'm sure there are plenty more.

But yea I agree with hollowdweller they sure are handy!!:D

I've also started to notice the survival necklace more then usual and I think it's great more people are starting to cope with this idea.

My necklace has:
Compass
Knife with neck kydex sheath
20' of 550 paracord wrapped in 5' of duct tape
firesteel
waterproof container the size of a film roll for cameras. (contains some fishing wire, couple hooks, sinkers, water purifying tabs, cotton balls and vasalene packets.

Now with this necklace around my neck at all times, I have less worries on my mind, say if I were to abandon camp in a hurry for what ever reasons, or leaving the shelter at night to get firewood and not being able to find it again.(it happens, but I've never been in this situation yet)

All around handy.
