Got Bear Grylls Knife

There are other blades that I would rather, but i like the features of this and might get one impulsively at some point.

I would just buy the Gerber Prodigy. That way you will have the same knife, with a far stronger and more useful handle that doesn't break, but only pay half the price. It an okay design, but nothing special for a 420HC steel fixed blade.

The Prodigy , especially in Sandvik 12C27 is a way better knife than the BG. version. Mine is my back-up truck knife. I've put it through severe beatings and it has held up well. Not the biggest fan of serrations either but I have to admit that knife is solid.

I was cruising east on I-40 today in TN and saw a billboard for Smoky Mt Knife Works.... First thing I noticed was this big knife on the billboard, then the very large BG on the handle. I chuckled to myself. I didn't stop at SMKW this time but I did visit Bass Pro. Saw Lee and Tiffany.... :)

Can you name some jimnolimit? I'm still on the fence for getting one of these

to name a few:

spyderco tenacious
buck folding omni hunter
buck vantage select
boker CLB direkt
kershaw clash
kershaw needs work

if you can bump the price up in the $45 range, add the kershaw junkyard dog and cold steel american lawman to the list.

Once again, I believe Wal-mart in the US is selling the fixed blade BG knife for around $50, where are you buying the Gerber Prodigy for half of that? I like the LMF III Infantry, but its $110 up here, not half... twice the price.
