Got bit by a Kershaw today...

Well, I'd just send Kershaw an email and explain what happened--they'll getcha a brand-spanking new one if I'm not mistaken, or repair that one so that it will never cut you from a failing lock. Let us know how it goes.

Speaking of getting bit...I sliced through my jeans and through the shirt underneath when I stuck my Damascus Leek in my pocket just now! Apparently the safety had slid to the "safe position" while I had the knife open. I didn't notice this when I closed it and jammed it into my pocket. The safety kept the blade from closing all the way.

Well, my 4-5 yr old Kershaws, including a Chive, Scallion, Leek, and a pair of Blurs, not to mention last autumn's Dam Leek, have joined my Bucks in having bitten me in a most insidious way... I want more. I drew a bit of blood twenty odd years ago on the way back to the motel in Gatlinburg, after buying a Buck 301 Stockman (Sharp!). Other than that, my only DNA samples have been left on my dullest SAKs.

I am not a fan of liner locks, preferring lockbacks. I have never had a loose liner lock. My oft-toted Blurs, showing their age in wear (What skate tape?), are still tight as a drum. If you get a 'bad' one, try to swap it... or send it back - they are decent folks. My only fault thus far with a bunch of new folder knives, including Bear MGC, Benchmade, Buck, Gerber, Kershaw, Puma, Victorinox, and Wenger, has been too-tight Torxx screws on my Dam Leek, causing me to twist my Crapsman driver. Kershaw sent me a little driver set (Worked great!), screws, and a new clip - what yeoman service - give'em another chance, they'll get it right.

Ouch! tighten up that safety! My rainbow leek's safety is screwed so tight that I must physically move it with quite a bit of force. I like it this way--safe when I want it on safe, fire when I want it on fire.

Why did you do that? All you had to do was to contact CS, and they would have fixed your problem.

I hope you didn't send it back to Kershaw after that bonehead move...and if you did, I'm sure Thomas will see this eventually......

Nope didn't send it back to Kershaw...did not expect anything more out of a $30 dollar knife made in China...

Ya I like old Gerbers...but now I am into Busses...;)
Then, why are you here at the Kershaw forum?..

Exactly. I can't think of any of the guys here that go around bashing
your nice little knives...Why do you feel the need to come here and
kick ours around??

Are you trying to compensate for a lack of attention or does being an @$$
just come natural for you??
