i know this is dumb. i got cut not by the blade, but by the lockback yesterday.

the lockback on my dozier is not rounded and stays rather sharp even at 90 degree angle.

the steel on the back of the blade is rounded though.

edit: it is the kabar production dozier not the dozier dozier to be specific. in case people cannot identify the picture :S

Two days ago. I was cleaning up my Victorinox Swisstool from a camping trip and had all the tools opened halfway on the plain edge side and decided i wanted to push the clump back a tiny bit more so i pushed them all up, after just sharpening it... and ended up slicing my finger deep. same with you it closed up and didnt hurt but i felt the pressure of the cut and soon enough there was blood.

get a stone and slightly round off the side? Sounds uncomfortable!

My most recent bite was from a lil pocket fixed blade I made, it is meant to be carried in the watch pocket but I dumped it in my pocket with 3 other things in it and it unsheathed itself and opened up my finger when I put my hand in, it felt like a needle poke, but I disinfected and superglued it right after.

My 2nd most recent bite was my worst, I accidentally stuck a 7" fixed blade I made into my forearm during a bottle cut test, and I did it right after I finished sharpening, here's a pic of it, it's 2 days after I got stitched up, there's 3stitches and 2 internal stitches. It scared the hell out of me, it took me by surprise and the wound opened right up pouring blood everywhere and I saw my muscle :(.

Haha^^^^yea, what he said. I needed surgery for mine. Sliced my pointer finger on my right hand and cut through tendon, artery and nerve. Fun times, after 5.5 hours in the emergency room it was still bleeding, even through the 10 stitches and 2 days it was still gushing. I have some pics but theyre pretty gruesome, if anyone wants me to post Ill go ahead.

please post those pics i wanna see

Got bit by my BM 940 about five minutes after I got it. Those of you with AXIS lock blades will know what I'm talking about. There's a little resistance that you have to get used to when you first start to pivot the blade open. I pushed too hard with the pad of my right thumb and zing.....opened up an inch long gash from my nail to my first joint. Didnt' hurt much but leaked for days. Kept it bound and coated with Bactroban, and all I've got now is a little thin white line. Still a little sore three months later.

No pic's this time but I'll get some in the future if I ever get bit again. Life's meant to share.

I just got my first real bite this past saturday, the result of a lack of attention combined with learning how to use a curved carving knife. I rarely get bit, and am pretty careful, but accidents happen.
