Got dinged for DTBMBG

All I can say is WOW!!!

I like it even more than I expected. I had doubts about the talons in general, and about my choice to switch from the D guard, but I love them! It's such a nasty looking knife, but also looks very practical.

Unfortunately, the ding came at a bad time and I'm not where I thought I'd be. I absolutely can't afford to keep it and will sell, but you better believe I will enjoy the chance to have it in hand even if I pass it along.

Ugh. They look great. In real freagin trouble as got both guard & talon and can only keep one. Believe its going to be near impossible to choose one over other.

If I was in that situation I'm pretty sure I'd keep the d-guard. I saw the talon model as an offering for peeps who couldn't have the d-guard in their area. The d-guard is so sexy to me. Looks like a little brutal cutlass.

Have been leaning towards the dguard. Does have a more "classic" look to it which I dig too. Plus will be more rare and like that it covers all the fangers. Had to get both though, both just too good not too. I wish these would have been a bit thinner. I hope a BWM dguard makes an appreance in Op2W.

Could you not get a dguard in TX?

Mine made it on Friday:

So far I'm likin' the DTBMBG and when work finally slows down a bit I'm gonna beat her! :D

Just got mine. I had considered selling it to because I couldn't resist the Huck, but there is no way I can let this one go. Love it.

And I had been thinking of modding this knife by bobbing the rear talon but it feels like it will serve as a nice hook for grabbing a hot cook pot handle off the camp fire.

Great pics.

The DT was very tempting to me, but I ended up passing on it.

The swedge goes back really far on it. Gives it a good look, and keeps the weight off the front. And then there's the extra weight in the back. What's the balance point on these?

It's also interesting to see how short the the handle is even in comparison to the Battle Saw.

Aren't there any other pics you want to share with us involving the DTBMBG? ;)

Lol, I'm not technically supposed to have any of the knives we're talking about here. 5.5" maximum blade length. It's legal to carry them in your car, or out in the boonies (where I use knives like this anyway), or while hunting.

Mine balances right at the rearmost edge of the blade right where it ends and the choil begins.

She wasn't a fan of any others, cause she was laughing..... she didn't think the DTBMBG was quite as cool as we do. Haha

Well, mine sold. It's gonna be some bittersweet parting, because I love this knife but really can't justify it. I still have the WTFBG on order and you better believe I'm not selling it.

I used mine this morning to hack up am old pallet. A nuclear meltdown treatment on the rear talon would've made it a lot more comfortable. She's a little rough on the pinky finger. I may end up stripping mine after all so I can knock the sharp edges off that talon.

FINALLY! I got dinged for mine. Tanker with blue/black g10.
After reading your comment, clampdaddy, I'll probably knock the edges off the rear talon even without stripping it. In my case, with the tanker, it might not show up TOO bad. Can probably hit it with something to subdue the shiny after-effect of the treatment.

I got dinged today for black canvas and tanker grey. My anticipation has been tempered a bit by bashing some seasoned wood with my ASH-2, the pinky bite was real, and really painful. I've got a 2x42 though, maybe I'll just take it to the grinder. Not bashing on the design, I have weirdly wide hands.
