  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Got money? The Kabar Navy MKI is an excellent Tweener place-holder.

I had a kraton handled 7" Ka-Bar, but actually found it too spongy. Probably great for actual combat or use when wet, but stacked leather is just classic.

I think the clip/swedge on the Mk1 is executed really really well.
I've got no need for one, but just kinda want. It would indeed make a good truck tool, tho methinks a BK2 or BK3 would be ideal in a vehicle since they double as hatches very well (think downed trees).

The leather handle sure is sharp looking, but this thing looks GREAT all black.

i've been telling a few folx to buy one of these if they can't wait. then keep it or flip it. probably keep it.

i like mine. lives in the range bag. even gets some use.

as for sheaths. eh. it's a nice sheath on the MK1, but the tweener sheath is something else :D and most people buying tweeners probably are going to bushwhack with them, and they'll want that pouch, wee as it is, it's handy. plus the easy molle strap on the back means attaching to all your backpacks/etc will be a breeze.

JUST GIVE IN PEOPLE! DON'T FIGHT IT!

Ethan, Moose, now me, and everyone else that has got one loves it.

I am thinking I like the mk over the short fighter due to the guard is smaller on the mk. And the leather is just sexy. The black looks functional and durable and sharp in its own right, but the leather is sexier to my eye.

Ok, i am really new to this and gotta ask...what's a tweener knife? Believe me I looked long and hard for an answer before I opened myself up to the ultimate "im a rookie" question...but never found the info i was looking for.

It's the nickname for the 3 new Becker knives coming out soon. They are sized beTWEEN the BK11/BK14 and the regular sized Beckers. They are the ones everyone wants BAD (that Ka-Bar better release on time, or they'll have psychological breakdowns on their hands).

Mooseman, will the Mk1 get the new coating and laser-etch treatment like the Becker line?

I suppose the leather one could always be dyed black...

My Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener seems to be hit or miss depending on the knife. It's really good on the BK2, and I just discovered it's really good on the MK-I also. SWEET!

You guys need to let the leather fascination go. Do you want to use it, or look at it? I can't express enough how awesome the grip is on this thing!

Thanks for posting the review C tanner. Love that guys reviews! And seeing the shorty usmc with the scandi grind, just wow. Skystorm, I emailed Tomars and he will not be carrying the leather handle MK1 since its an exclusive to a certain distributor. I found mine by searching on-line and found a few vendors that carry it.

I like the stacked leather look and have since I was a wee lad, but always a fan of black on black too. The nice thing about the price point on these knives is that it is perfectly reasonable to think that eventually, I could have both.
