I like it more than I thought I would. It's BIG, relatively speaking. The blade is "beefy" with a noticeably thick spine. The weight of the blade makes it easy to thumb-flick open. Thwack! Love it. A big knife with a deep carry wire clip. Love that, too!

Here it is with today's carry, a Sage 2, for size comparison:

Thanks for the pics racer.
Mine will be here Wed. with a Sage3.
I cannot wait!! :D

wow, i didn't know the superleaf was a compression lock. very nice looking kmife

Either the liners and the g10 handles are thin, or the blade is really think =D

Thanks Racer. I appreciate that you always post pics of ur new Spydies, and always good quality too!

Another comparo photo.... A Superleaf sandwich with a Manix 2 and Paramilitary 2. This photo was taken at home with a point-and-shoot camera. I have a better camera at the office.

also got mine today
its build on same platform as Superhawk , same handle with different blade .
I like 4mm blade

Why the hook at the end of the handle.....doesn't it hinder grip options. Or is it an MBC thing which faciliates a hold that locks in your hand ?

-regards

I want to see someone toss their superhawks scales on one of these. If I picked one up I think I would take off a bit of the spine as well. Has the overly wide look that plauges the tenacious line.

I gotta figure out how to resize pics...

Back at the office where I have my macro-lens set-up. Some photos of the thickness of the Superleaf blade:

Millimeter ruler - about 4-mm.

The Superleaf uses the handle design from the Superhawk, which was a hawkbill blade. Hawkbills are designed to do almost nothing but pulling cuts, so the hook keeps the knife from getting yanked out of your hand.

I have one on order along with a Sage 3 and I can't wait for it to get here. It just might be the perfect Spyderco.

A bit smaller than I thought it would be, I wasn't planning on getting one, but that may just change...

Thanks for the pictures.
