Grail Knife!! Grail Knife!! Thanks to Dan the man(Parke1) :)

Dan is indeed The Man! :)

Congratulations on the grail Jon, great knife and great pics

You need to learn to type! :D

Everything that comes next is all gravy man.

What a great expression :)

It was much easier letting this one go knowing that it was going to a good home!

Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts, everyone. We just hit a bit of a stumbling block with some medical bills, but everyone is happy and healthy, and that's what matters.

I'm down to my last two TC Barlows, unforunately. :o Those two aren't going anywhere, though. Oh well, I know Charlie will be putting out more down the road, and sometimes the hunt is the best part!

I can attest to this statement whole-heartily :) The rewards can sometimes be overwhelmingly great!!

So happy to hear all is well on the home front man.

Dan, the part in bold above sums up my thoughts exactly;)

Always good to hear someone finding the grail they've been looking for.
My grails shift as my interests do. And each time I was able to find the knife I was looking for. ( had to have one made on a couple occasions, but still lol)

Jon...congratulations that your quest has been fulfilled. That is one beautiful knife and my search for the soup bone continues. Sweet!!

Everything that comes next is all gravy man.

I've found my 2 grails(yellow bone days work and a soup bone) so the search is over and whatever happens to come along that I don't have is whats next :D

I would love an ebony charlow though:thumbup::cool:

Let's hope you like Red Eye Gravy on your next soupbone..........

I WOULD LIKE TO EXTEND A BIG THANK YOU TO DAN (Parke1)!!!

Ok, rather than start a new thread, I figured I would post my BIG thank you to Dan the Man Parke1 here, in the official Dan is THE man thread. Dan was gracious enough, recently, to bestow several of his glorious knives to me. Undoubtedly, Dan could have easily sold these knives at auction or even offered them up on the exchange for a higher price. But somehow, I was lucky enough to receive a PM from Dan, offering me some very desirable and hard to find knives. I am still not too certain as to why I was so lucky to have been bestowed this honor. But what I can tell you is that I am eternally grateful to Dan for his generosity and friendly & kind nature. (Photos below of a few of the knives Dan was gracious enough to pass on to me for all to enjoy...) Thank you Dan!!!

Thank you Paul! Yes, Dan is indeed good people. I can't even put into words how thankful I am.

The funny thing is, I got my first Charlow about a year ago and didn't think it was at all a big deal at the time (being able to get it, not the knife itself. The knife itself IS a big deal!!) I was able to just get it from a dealer's website, not knowing the "craze" that was brewing. Well, I wasn't really focusing on GEC's at all, as I collect lots of other things as well, and fast forward to about a month ago when my GEC bug hit full stride again and I began trying to locate more Charlows to add to the collection, only to find out now that finding a Charlow now is like finding a unicorn!

It seems like a lot of people have pretty vast collections (ahem, hoarding...lol) but most are not willing to give any of them up. So, for Dan to initiate and extend his kindness is amazing to me and speaks to what truly incredible character he has.

Thank you Dan! You are truly "The Man"!!

BTW Paul, congrats to you too on the amazing Scout EO and Case you just received! So awesome!!

Very unique scales on that one. :)

I have the same Charlow in African Blackwood and love how slim and pocketable it is.

Very cool thread! Glad you got your Grail knife! Good people are what this place is all about!
