Thanks Jon! It will definitely be a knife that I cherish. Your soup bone is even more awe-inpiring!

Very cool thread! Glad you got your Grail knife! Good people are what this place is all about!

Thank you Todd! I haven't been active in the traditionals forum for too long and generally read/lurk, more than I post. But in the short time that I have spent here, 99% of the people have been generous and kind and have been quick to lend a helping hand and positive word. Case in point...yourself! Thank you too Todd, for the Northwoods Fremont you passed on to me!

And a big thanks to Jon (theiveslikeus) for being so cool when I jumped the gun on his 85eo without processing everything. He was kind and gracious and took the time to chat at length with me via PM.

So many good folks here!

Ok, back to the focus of this thread... Dan is the Man!!

Yes, Dan is indeed good people. I can't even put into words how thankful I am.
...
It seems like a lot of people have pretty vast collections (ahem, hoarding...lol) but most are not willing to give any of them up. So, for Dan to initiate and extend his kindness is amazing to me and speaks to what truly incredible character he has.

Thank you Dan! You are truly "The Man"!!

Well said!!
Beautiful acquisitions, sugarleaf! And thanks for sharing another story of Dan's generosity and thoughtfulness.

Thanks for the kind words, folks. I've said it before, but it bears repeating; if it weren't for the kind, gracious, and inspirational members we have here in the traditionals forum, my knife collecting probably would have tapered off years ago. Logging in here each day for a little while feels like coming home in a manner of speaking. When I had some financial troubles here a few weeks back, I had to let go of a lot of knives that I don't expect to be able to replace. That's ok, though, because honestly, I have made new friends and been the recipient of such honest gratitude that it makes the loss of a few knives very easy to ignore.

I'll be posting a new thread here in a bit, though. I'm happy to say that our troubles are behind us, everyone is happy and healthy, and I'm back to prowling the exchange ;)

Thanks again, everyone. Jon and Al, I'm very glad you like those knives just as much (or more!) than I did. You're both great guys.

That's what really matters!! Great news; I'm very happy to hear you've made it through a "rough patch" and everyone's doing well.

"Like" is an understatement. I will cherish them. Thank you for the kind words and compliment Dan! It means a whole lot coming from you!!!

Gosh, Dan, I didn't know you were selling your knives out of need to cover for some personal issues. You made no mention of that to me, which again, shows how gracious you are. I hope everything is ok and whatever issues you were dealing with has been sorted out. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help!!!

God bless you and your family Dan and thanks so much again for your gracious and kind ways!!
