Grail Knife, Meh....Is it just me ?

your right...pass the marshmallows

And the grail folding knife for making s'mores might just be the Medford Praetorian.
The extra wide blade keeps everything from falling into the fire while it melts! :D
Probably voids the warranty though. ;)

If you’re looking for keg stands you might check out the Whine & Cheese sub-forum. Be sure to take the marshmallows as peace offerings :D
This must be your safe place?...never heard of it:D

Free hand sharpening is a big key to me keeping and really appreciating a knife.

sometime its good when they arrive dull and disapointing ;)

I just bought my 2017 grail knife. I have found that if you try to tone down the excitement and anticipation you make better decisions. Being that you have never held it in your hands you only have the reviews to go by.
I find that when I look up the knife on BF you can usually get first hand experience's from people that have it. My last suggestion that is not well received by BF is to order it from a big company that won't be negatively affected by a return in case you don't like it. I occasionally do it but in order to repay that level of service I make sure that I buy my next knife from that company.
I hope this info will be helpful. Happy New Year.

lol. the only blade that I considered a Grail was the XM-18. got one, and wasn't disappointed. I now have three, plus an XM-24. I'm not sure I have another grail....maybe a Strider SnG.

My grail. More thumbstuds = best grail.

Since one knife can't do everything, no grail exists for me, although it's a fun hobby/addiction! I approach buying new knives like technology, a lot of research and usually waiting til the second production run so the kinks/flaws are worked out. It cuts down on dissatisfaction.

I like it!....did you not notice the 3 thumbstuds. That knife does not play by the rules
You want that "knife" to immediately get twice as nice?

There are three thumb studs on the other side too!

I get real excited about a knife for about a week but then the perfect knife wears off.

There are several different designs and they are all good. Just different. Wouldn't want to part with any and in the past if I did, I end up coming back full circle back to what I had 10+ years ago. So, I learned that some knife designs are just meant to stay. But that takes some time to realize and the longer you are in this hobby the more you will eventually come to certain conclusions..

Exactly! You've said everything I wanted to say. When I started on the journey some 15 years ago I started pretty low on the pole. Opinels,Mercators and my first one hand opener was a Delica. Since then my addiction grew Sebenzas, ZT"s,Lion Steel, Benchmade etc also some really nice Titanium and CF Spydercos. As you said " I end up coming back full circle back to what I had 10+ years ago" That ole Delica is still a keeper.

My 2018 grail is a Strider SMF. I guess we are on the same wave length. I just realized that I forgot to tell what My Grail knife was. The Sacha Thiel officer in carbon fiber and Ti.

For years I wanted a Buckmaster 184 so bad it stunk. Didn't think any other knife mattered. Now that I can have one, and thanks to this place, my tastes have changed. Kinda like to have one but, too many others now.

I finally got my hands on my grail knife early last year...a Benchmade Mini Infidel. It was everything I wanted and more! Sadly it had to go...unexpected expenses came up :/ I never did go back to get another one...
