Grails. The ones that sing and the ones that sting.

Wonderful, one more I'm gonna have to add to my "want it" list. I have stuck with collecting production knives because there are fewer of them that I like and they are much more affordable. I just cant afford to start collecting customs, there are too many of them and the ones I'd want are all very beautiful and very expensive. Congrats. I do envy those who have a few customs.

Thank you , DDR does make a production, mid-tech version. It doesn't look quite the same but they're nice, lots of options and not too expensive.

WOW Beautiful OSS. Wait, that's too pretty to be a regular OSS. What is that exactly?

That's the original version of the Black Bear Classic. "400 series stainless" (AUS8A) steel, micarta handles w/steel fittings, leather sheath w/Norton fine India stone.

Yes, the 610/615 set is coming from Russia. I think that is good for at least an extra .10 point prestige in my collection.

Here's the set.

those are indeed the ones I saw. I remember because I almost pulled the trigger on them. :)

I have a couple of discontinued Carbon V SRK's, but they are not on the same level as that Black Bear Classic.

Not for finish, but in terms of quality and performance, I think they absolutely are. I've got a Carbon V Recon Tanto and Gurkha Kukri and they're awesome blades!

I lost an ebay auction by a beaver curl, for a minty Carbon V Recon Tanto, a little over a year ago. I was actually looking for the SRK (which I won). The winning bid on the Tanto was only like $48 bucks. Oh well.

I would be very pleased if Cold Steel did a "Black Bear" style treatment on an SRK. I'm thinking uncoated, satin finished, saber ground, CPM-3V, full-tang, with a mirror polished bolster and black micarta handles. That's what I want.

The 610 and 615 are definitely the models I most regretted missing out on when I started this hobby in 2014. I'm very excited to finally get my hands on them. The 610 is especially impressive in person.

I too am late to the game, and just getting started collecting. The Rukus was the first I got to check of my wish list. It is a beast of a knife, and I hope to add a matching mini soon. Since this has become somewhat of a Rukus thread, here is a pic of mine.

I just started collecting not that long ago. The 610 was the first of my wish list that was checked off. It is indeed a beast. Picture of mine, since this has sort of turned into a Rukus appreciation thread.

My sincerest condolences. I hope that insurance covered at least a portion of your loss. Although, sadly I suspect it was hardly enough to cover replacement of your most prized.

HAHAHA. She's a real classic though. She won't turn many heads now-a-days, but she's loyal and trustworthy.
