Gransfors SFA and Snow & Nealley Kindling Axe

Dude.....this one got dug up out of the archives!!!

I doubt you want my SFA. Over time, it has had about an inch ground off it :D The thing chips a lot.

I will bring it if we ever get together to play :D

I have heard that repeated often (usually by people attempting to sell some other brand of axe) but my woods are mostly hardwood and I've never noticed any problem cutting them with a GB.

I am no longer selling axes of either sort, so I have no bias. But, I must say, I could just as easily got an account with GB to sell their, just like everyone else does. But, I was not happy with their performance, at any cost.

This is an OLD, OLD thread. Lots has been done and documented since. So, it is almost not fair to bring it up with all the "stuff missing in the middle."

But, I will say this. Performance is a relative thing.. For most, the GB is going to be great, even on oak. Put it next to one that I have modified to my liking (and no longer selling), and it will not perform as good. For sure! It is easy to think what you have is the best, but not be aware of anything better. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist :D

Not a matter of good and bad. More like good and great. Its all relative.
