This is meant as a loving, tongue in cheek monument to the world of gray turds!

I'll admit, I do love me a sandblasted, synthetic handled sentry deanimating combat blade, and I know I'm not the only one:thumbup:

Some hand finishing is acceptable, but what we're looking for is some sandblasted steel, colorless synthetic handles, and actually no colour whatsoever:) The less light reflection, the better!

Let's see whatcha got!

Here's mine; a Marzitelli custom designed, (by me) COMBAT knife, (because, y'know I love me some knife combat!)

Here's one of my Gray turds.

I've made a couple in the not too distant past.

This one might not count. Maybe too much color. ;)

oh yeah boys! That's some great stuff :)

found this picture on the internet, I think it's probably one of my favourite 'gray' knives of all time;

You guys are showing knives that are WAY too nice to be called turds. Here is mine, a 6" convexed M2 blade @ 65 HRc.
There is black micarta under the custom textured duct tape wrapping. :D

Hello Lorien!

Withdrawn, since I didn't get the idea of this thread at first... :o;)

Alex, I'm sorry but that's a little upscale. There's simply not enough sand blasting or jimping. Laminated blade is a little weird here, although I'm sure there are bonified gray turds which have one. Bonus points for stainless steel though.
All that being said, I'm always happy to see a Sobral knife so it can stay.

And, John Doyle, your knives have no place here. Too much color, too beautiful a temper line and I'm sorry but temper lines are just not Gray Turd material. Bonus points however for the first in your batch pictured- the one piece black micarta handle is good, but your other handles fall apart looking through the gray turd filter as they are simply too elaborate and eye catching.
That being said, I'm always happy to see a Doyle knife, so they can also stay.
:)
So far, Black Mamba is taking the lead here. Although the duct tape usually makes for a knife contestable in the 'prison shank' category, he explained the tactical nature of its grip enhancement. This, coupled with a 65hrc blade of M2, however, elevates this knife above many others and is so far the knife to beat!

The rest of you guys have posted excellent specimens, my hat is off to you!

I know that there are more out there. Jon Brand, I understand you might have a classic to share with us:thumbup:

Kit Carson has made some incredible knives over the years. Here's a really rare one, now resides in Austria. This is Stellite, 8" blade! Kit told me it took over 20 belts to grind this.

Dan, fantastic addition! Bonus points for that badass BLOOD GROOVE!

Win, Kit Carson is a legend in the Gray Turd community, and that is one outstanding example! Bonus points for the Stellite.

I do??? Which?

I USED to own this, my first custom knife. It has fancy drilled handles so I don't think it qualifies.

The one I currently own has a satin finish blade so I don't think it qualifies.
