I traded another forum member a Nessmuk I got for my son for a Grayman Merdeka(the Nessmuk was too nice to use--and my son wanted the Merdeka)
What it looked like before

I had the man I traded it from mail it to Mike Grayman to install new GATOR grips and modify the shape of the handle like he did for the Mega Pounder I got from him.
here is what it(the Merdeka) looks like now:thumbup:

and more photos of it

Mike installed the Grips, recoated it,resharpened it-and engraved it to boot.
and wanted NOTHING in payment from me
I had to almost beg him to let me pay for the cost of the grips at least.
Again--I bought this bad boy "second hand"--Mike did not owe me anything.
As far as the Knife itself....
The Merdeka is a very big little knife--or a little knife that thinks it's big.
I think my son will be using it 75 years from now.....it's STOUT!!!!!!
The Mega Pounder is perhaps a more useful knife design---but the Merdeka is the one I would rather have if I was attacked(by anything--man or animal)
It's also a BLAST to use!!!!!
If you are thinking of getting a GRAYMAN knife--rest assured you will be treated right by Mike Grayman..
