Great Eastern Cutlery ( GEC ) group shots / photo requests

It's a bit surprising they used the same bolsters on these knives.

My current GEC stable, with a bonus pocket watch I found in a box of stuff from my great-grandfather's house.

Depends on the pattern, I generally like the traditional blade shapes for each pattern with exceptions like the Improved Trapper. But I am a sucker for the straght-edge blade, whether sheep or wharncliffe. I love how easy it is to get the whole length of the blade razor sharp, whereas I occasionally struggle with bellies.

Yeah, I get that. Clip blades are my default favorite (with more belly and depth; "California" or Turkish clips are not as aesthetically pleasing to me, no matter how slicey and slim in hand[le]), but a correct other main blade on the right pattern just sings.

I just realized that this is a painting. What a fantastic subject. Your son has talent! I'm sure you display it with pride..... I would!

Thanks! I'm very pleased, and keep it where I can see it from where I sit most often when home-- here at my computer. ;)

Here's another look, under different lighting:

Either is the accurate hue, depending on location and time of day. Being art, and all.

I have found my Grail fixed blade...I've been through all of the popular names around these parts...and just now found a carbon GEC I can totally get behind. I am so thrilled. I wish they did more fixed blades and more retailers carried them!!!

Very cool! I am a fan of art and knives! What size is it, if I may ask?

The current family, and a couple of their distant relatives...apologies for the poor photo, it was early!

Dogleg Dreamin.....

I really love the steep angle of the blade on this 56 clip. Probably my favorite of the group.
