Just wanted to throw this out there. As you might have gained from the title, I've just recently had a wonderful encounter with Benchmade's repair service. I sent my 940 in for a number of issues about a week and a half ago, and I got it back yesterday. The main reason that I had sent it in was that both of the omega springs had given out. One had bit the dust a few weeks ago, but the knife was still functional, so I kept EDC'n it (It's my favorite knife; couldn't part with it just yet). Surprise, surprise, the other omega spring took the same path as its brother, rendering my baby useless. Along with this (pressing) issue, in all my time with the knife (just about a year of non-stop EDC), I had found that I could never tighten the pivot to my liking and have it stay there. It would always decide to loosen up after 40 or 50 actuations (I tried loctite, but it only worked for about a month). In addition, the blade was very off center; just about as off center as it could be without rubbing the inside of the handle. So, when sending it in, I figured I'd note these other issues and see if Benchmade would correct them.
As I said earlier, I received the knife yesterday (Benchmade sent me and email with a tracking# last Thursday). I couldn't be happier. Omega springs: fixed; blade: centered; pivot: steady; lockup: ROCK solid. I don't think I have ever handled a Benchmade that I could easily flick open and flick closed that feels that solid. To top things off, they sharpened it (hair popping), and sent me a free clip set (I had removed my clip, so they probably thought that I had lost it).
Perfect customer experience.
