Great Slicer?

I'm looking for a folder, not a slipjoint, that is a great slicer. I.e., a thin, strong blade. I have small hands, so prefer something with a closed handle 4 1/4 inches or even 4". The Military, e,g,, is way too big for me. Any suggestions?

+1 for the endura or delica.

If you liked the Millie, but it was too big. Give the Para a shot. 9 times out of 10 it's what I'm carrying.

The FFG Delica sounds right up your alley. And by the way, you might want to try and handle a Military. I thought it would be too big for my hands as I have really small hands, but it's actually quite nice.

Yeah, the FFG Delica sounds like it would be perfect. The Gayle Bradley is a better slicer and is also stronger, but if you want a much smaller knife the Delica FFG is hard to beat.

Another vote for the FFG Endura/Delica. The Spyderco Chokwe is also a superb slicer.

FFG Endura is a great knife. But I would not risk it with VG-10, take with ZDP-189 - I think that is appropriate combination. I own one myself and like it very much.
I am honestly surprised to hear that Delica is a great slicer - isn't it too short for that? I would not pick that knife for a slicer role, though I like the knife as such.
Another option to consider is BM 746 Mini-Onslaught. The big version is huge - on par with Military. The mini one has it all in my opinion - the right shape of blade, right size of handle, blade and the right lock.
BM 740 DeJavoo and Mini-DeJavoo was a good knife - with remarkable blade and overall design. Though in this combination the big version is more suitable for slicing.
I am sure there are more.

The shortness of the blade doesn't have to do with slicing ability; it's more the edge geometry and blade thickness. Since the D4 FFG blade is very tall and full flat ground, it separates material with minimal effort. Plus, the blade is .5mm thinner than the Endura's, so the Delica should actually slice a little better.

spyderco sage series.

sage 1 is carbon fiber
sage 2 is titanium
sage 3 is g-10

great slicer, great steel, great ergonomics

A.G. Russell Acies, it's the best slicer/cutting knife I've ever owned and I do have a lot of great Spyderco's so I do have a pretty good frame of reference. Good luck!

another vote for the paramilitary 2 just cut up some pork with it is a wonderful slicer... did quick work of that pork butt...... and the handle is really comfortable for my hand i have med size hands.. the coil is really nice too... and the s30v steel stays razor sharp for a long time.. the ffg delica is a real good choice too..... but the para 2 is has alot stronger lock up as well

The Stretch is a great option. Very ergonomic, plus if you want to spend a bit more you can get it in ZDP-189.

This one.

I agree with the Endura, but I haven't seen a Kershaw Skyline mentioned yet. In my experience it's a very good slicer, especially considering its price point.
