Great sword video///

As ridiculous as it may seem this marketing strategy seems to be quite effective. Cold Steel knows how to market their products. It's not a strategy that works for everyone, but it works for them. I was entertained by this video.

I will admit that I'm not a huge fan of Cold Steel but I know I sell alot of their knives to some very loyal Cold Steel owners.

on a personal note I'm really starting to not care for the videos, they actually make me not want to ever own another Cold Steel product.

I found the video funny at times but the sword doesnt look half bad. Terrible spam on this video and on many of the other knife videos lately.

It looks like something out of Dungeons and Dragons.
Leaving the marketing aside, its actually a real, historical design from the 1500-1600's:

Well, I never doubted claymores and long swords, but as all things they had their time. There have been documented instances when with one swing of the sword, in battle 3 heads will roll...I think its interesting to see reenacted to a some degree, to see weapons of the past in action. I mean its not everyday you see demonstration for a random piece of cool trivia (unless you go out and look for it).

The commentary and the balloon pop, well that a whole other story. I usually watch video reviews with sound off. Just so I can see the knife and draw my own conclusions. But cold steel and the fat guy in a suit, just cracks me up.

I find the videos very entertaining. I'm going through the current one now.
And, just a quick FYI, CS donates all the meat they use to charities like homeless shelters. They also mention they take care to clean and properly store the meat for that purpose.

Now, having said that, their swords are out of my price range, generally speaking.

Finally, they are closing out several killer items at this time. By now, everyone has heard about the Black Rhino and Rajah closeouts.
Check out their "Special Projects" site.

My "close-out" Rajah I is arriving tomorrow as well as an ESEE Junglas.

I'll be doing some chopping & pics this weekend for sure. :D

I still can't believe the ridiculousness of this video. I'm sorry to anyone that represents this but if there is people out there that will become purchasers because of this then so be it. It's still retarded to me.

For as many of the free DVD's they put out they must be doing something right. Ihave many Cold Steel products and none have ever let me down. I also praise the fact that he is willing to film this and put it out for the knife public to see. I believe the PROOF videos started many years ago when Lynn T and Jerry Busse were disagreeing on who made the more indestructable knife. I am curious as to is Busse or ESEE were to do something similar would all you CS haters start bashing them or would it be the greatest marketing scheme ever. I'm sure that when you guys get a new knife you take it to cut something. I would bet that you even use it in the kitchen, you just dont cut whole hogs in half. When you get a new chopper you break it in by chopping something, I know I do. That is all CS is doing, they just make it comical by what Lynn says and the scale of meat product they cut. Cold Steel knives do seem a little overpriced for the materials, but they are extremely tough knives.

I believe the PROOF videos started many years ago when Lynn T and Jerry Busse were disagreeing on who made the more indestructable knife.

It started even earlier when Lynn T used to be an ass to other knife makers and their knives at knife shows and such, by saying they were inferior to his products, and that his could peform waaaay better.

However bladeforums is a absolute tiny minority of knife owning people, and his videos probably work well to their specified audiences.
