Great sword video///

It started even earlier when Lynn T used to be an ass to other knife makers and their knives at knife shows and such, by saying they were inferior to his products, and that his could peform waaaay better.

.

Where did you hear about this? I would love to read an article about it.

Uh yeah, it's as long as my little Honda Civic. Like I'd be EDC'ing the thing for self defense.

I thought you were countering the sword EDCer with your Honda EDC when I first read your post. In all honesty, that would be a swell idea! You could more easily conceal your Honda, it would draw less attention once "deployed", and would be far more effective at damaging a lot of harmless stuff. (just etch some dragons on it first so you get proper "cred" from the operators at the mall)

Sure, the sword may be capable of cleaving a deer, but your car stands a much greater chance of actually catching one!

When your at work that vid is fun to watch. I dont take it seriously, by now most people are aware of LT's marketing techniques and they dont suite everyone, which includes me.

I think its neat to watch them cut the pigs up and the Trash Can full of water was actually interesting as its like people cutting water bottles with there knives. Its all overly dramatic an everything but if you watch it for entertainment purposes its not so terrible. Guys here at work got a kick out of it.

I just tried to leave MR Mall ninja a comment on his video. But It looks like I have been blocked lol :jerkit:

Excluding, I hope, the meat that was stuffed in those nasty looking boots

Somebody munched down on boot burgers and thought: "these are really good, what is that seasoning?" ;)

Can someone name one other company that works in the industry that provides functional swords at a price most people can afford? And proves it? the videos are cheesy, but i can't think of a competitor that produces useable swords in that price range.

ron_m80 - you're very right to a large degree. There are some awesome Katanas and Khuhkris out there and the prices for hand made genuine stuff is not tha out of line either, you just have to look for them. CS struts their stuff and that's why they call their videos "PROOF." :)

That said, we're just having a laugh at LT's over the top advertising. I'd guess that most of us here have, or had, some Cold Steel blades. I have 5 and love them all. It doesn't stop me from having a laugh when they do a ballet move and pop a balloon or thinking about burgers mixed in an old pair of boots! :D

I think the answer to that is lack of demand. It's 2010...not many feel the need to own a "functional, usable" sword. If the demand was there, I'm sure there would be many companies competing with Cold Steel for that market.

Yeah, you've got the $20 flea market brand crowd, and the $1,000 colector/martial artist crowd and a small crowd in between which Cold Steel advertises to.

Exactly.

As amusing as I find the video, I also find the fact that CS markets a 2-handed great sword as "usable" and expounds on how well it slashes through flesh and bone somewhat disturbing.

They always make me laugh.
He swings the sword like sort of like an axe.
But they at least give "proof" that their products work.
