Green Screen Antics....

This really deserves its own post, but Oh Well....

I was requested to make (2) exact chefs knives.
The guy wants to give his best friend a matching knife. They served together in the US Marines together. I tried to make this Their red.

Anyhow, it's funny the added stress that making them the Same brings. it has definitely been a slow build.....I'm probably just past half finished, idk?

So something I've never done before, I bring out the light box to take some pictures of obviously Not done knives ... Yup, doesn't make much sense.

So..... consider this Part One.

Thanks.
What's funny is I was cleaning off one work surface, by swapping them to another.
And I had stacked them....and then said to myself. "Hey, I need a picture of That*

Looked cool on top of one another. Wish I had 10.

Started my next project after the redheads.

More of a small, slicer, bushcrafter.....
Not my design, first time making a design of completely Others....
Not settled yet, on handle material.
Vintage crosscut for potential?

62HRC AEB-L

Yes I have a problem....
I don't have enough boxes, hooks, and shelves to store all my steel and blanks.

Worse yet is I'm really buying More steel.
I have butt loads of Nitro V and Aeb_l blanks....Alot.

But I'm getting an influx of orders for Chef's knives... I must be doing something right? Idk what though...haha.

So I need steel for around 6-10 more?
But I'm thinking of getting some 14c28n steel.
It's basically NitroV, but tiny different. Problem is shipping is a lot, also I Have to buy more industrial quantities then ...

I think I'm going Really deep, into the deep end....

With this order, I'm adding steel for a graduation present for my daughter, for Next year.
But, the steel sheet is Big. I need I blank, I'll get enough for 4.

Swords anyone???
Red lines, 36" overall length

I need to consolidate a couple posts ....
But the chaos is what it's like to be Me.

I'm panic treating a batch this week. It's in the top three biggest knife batches of mine, I think.... maybe.

This is the new Procut I bought the first week available, and AEB-L Chefs knives.

Lots of Fun Stuff. Some is taken, some looking for homes ...

NOT an actual model....
I have a half dozen daggers out for heat treatment..... But I didn't want to wait, and I don't want my hand coordination getting bad, it's been too long away from the grinder.... I don't want to finish orders until I catch a few passes.
-i feel better now.
This is sharp, and I didn't sharpen it yet.....Ha.

Calling it "Play Thing" Made from odds and ends with minor tweaking & Twerking.....
It's not my dagger. But it's a dagger.

File this under Because I Can.....

With my rather large batch of Procut back from heat treatment I wanted to start testing this.

This is my first time using this steel.
Pops doesn't have the steel as thin as I would like for Real chefs knives, but still I wanted to try to make a few....

This is .107" thick. Pretty Thick.
I just quickly ground the edge, took it outside and did some Chopping and Batoning. Yeah...Don't ever do that.....but I will.

The knife is 64HRC from Bos.
I battoned through a big twisted knot.
Because the blade is thin for this, it took A lot of hits.... eventually. I could smash through the logs.

I did this four times, and then chopping into the side of the logs, dirty wood. And making feathersticks.... It would slice paper cleanly before testing. It slices paper after. No chips.
I expected the knife to maybe break, idk? But it didn't.... It does have some discoloration, a glint, or a ding or a tiny roll. In one spot. I can't feel it. It doesn't effect slicing paper. But I can see it in certain light.

Overall Pretty Good.
