Greetings from Progresso, Mexico!

Great picts kgd.
I really like those sunset shots and the one with the cactus spines in the finger.

KGD, did you have any memorable meals while there? Looked to be pretty void of tourists, was it that way in 'town' too? See any mammals while you were there or just the few lizards? Beats Winter any day!

Well I was pretty much stuck to the resort and I didn't ultimately get a chance to explore the town. I know that this particular resort is used more widely by Mexicans compared to international tourists and this isn't a high tourist season for them.

That said, every 2 days, one of the cruise ships would dock in Progresso and a busload of 'Cruisy's' would plop into the resort. This usually involved rather obese ladies squeezed into tight bikinis. Whatever cruise line it was, it must have offered some kind of body-painting (not permanent tatoos) service whereby many of the ladies would have the designs painted onto their backs or butts. Lets just say that some of those paintings could rightly be called murials if you know what I mean :D :D :D

Food was a mixture of traditional Mexican - Yucatan affair. They have that great salsa they make which is raw corriander + limes/chillies/onions/tomatoes and very different in flavor from the Mexico City salsa we commonly encounter in stores in North America. Lots of fresh citrius fruits everyday and with every meal. Also good variety of ocean fish. It was all buffet style and that means I generally ate way too much.

No mammals, aside from fat painted ladies in too revealing of bikinis and horses. I would have rather watched the horses in bikinis :D

Well that answered my questions, bit too much with regard to fat ladies in bikinis....But hey, it's what your wife wanted to hear, right?! LOL!
