Hey guys I am posting this comment here since Greg decided to delete my comment on his new video lol. I guess he can't delete the post here. I decided to post it in feedback because technically it is feedback on a knife maker and its product/ customer service. Please MODs if you decide to move this somewhere else feel free to do so but people here in BF need to know the truth!!

I posted the following in his YouTube channel and instead of him actually taking care and proposing a solution he completed deleted it

I know I'm gonna get shit for this but here is the truth about all this. I LOVED Medford knives. I own a Preatorian G which is my EDC yes I CARRY my praetorian in my back pocket every day and night so I know what I am talking about. I trust my life to that knife and I know I can do that every time I have it with me. I also own a custom viper as well...paid full price and everything and I also carry the damn thing and I love it! But everything went downhill for me when I got a sawnto fixed blade! A $750 fixed blade should be engineered as a $750 product. I am an engineer so I also know my shit in that area. I don't pretend to be I studied the damn thing. I was super stoked about the fixed blade. I traded TWO knives in my collection to get this. I get it in the mail I was like a little girl. The knife and sheath came separetly. So I go at it and the knife yes it does not look worth $750 maybe $500 but whatever the folding knives are worth every penny...they are and I am being honest...maybe the viper at $950 price tag not that much a $750 would be much better. After I went all crazy about the knife itself, I have the greatest idea of maybe putting the knife into the sheath...maybe they were intended to be together I imagined. Oh my that's when Medford balloon popped everywhere in my living room. How come a $750 knife has a sheath that gets chewed by the knife itself. I have a zt121 and I paid $120 for it and the sheath and knife are wonderfully made. If someone is going to charge $750 for a fixed blade and give me a POS sheath with it that gets chewed everytime I use the damn knife that doesn't make sense to me. That's when I realized if the creator of this POS cannot wrap his head on producing and engineering a $20 sheath to fit the knife then that does not show me the whole knife as a package was engineered well. Why in hell would you make a plastic sheath to a knife that has serrated spine? I can understand he forgets customer names in videos and doesn't know what his guys are doing or grinding half of the time he is the CEO I get it! But seriously how many sawntos has been sold and NO ONE has noticed this??? Microtech got into huge shit because a pocket clip....maybe somebody should recall for free this POS sheaths and make it right for the people willing to be loyal to Medford brand and paying a hefty $750 price tag for 1/4" D2 fixed blades!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well here it is...this the truth and honestly somebody needed to say something about it. Pedro out!

So let me ask, did you call Greg and ask their company about the issue with the sheath or is this your first foray into getting his attention? I would have deleted that wall of text off my YT channel as well. While the sheath might not be as well thought out as the knife (I don't own a single Medford knife, not my cup of tea), an email conversation would have been my first move, rather than that post. Just saying.

Thanks RD for the reply. I did contact Greg but I never got an answer back from anyone about this topic. I just want to inform potential buyers of this specific knife the bad craftsman and eventual bad customer service when things go south and do not please an individual and/or company. If I would have seen something like this when I did my research about this specific knife I would have thought twice about getting it that's all brother. But yes I did take steps to contact them directly.

Given what I have seen just from Medford himself (he doesn't even carry a knife) I would rather step in something nasty than even consider his overpriced garbage.

Thanks for reinforcing my belief in Medford.

If there is one person who loves and defends Medfords it's Pedro. Greg has to make this right, otherwise he loses a major advocate for his products!

Well, I hope something good comes from this. I can't really think of much else to write on this topic.

Looks to me like the OP had a bad experience. I am kind of curious to see how the Medford folks handle it.

I will say I have an email outstanding to the Medford folks for a few days now with no response. Not a big deal but I am curious.

Lets give them the benefit of the doubt. It was Easter weekend and the kids are on Spring Break. Maybe they took some time off.

Although, if he had time to delete then he could have responded. I'd be pissed as well.

Is this about a sheath ?

In my experiences most high end fixed blades come with junk sheaths if at all.

My single worst customer experience ever was with this maker (and no, I won't go into it) so for me to see someone else with an issue provides proof that I am not alone in being displeased. Sorry for your problem, FWIW.

For $750 that fixed blade should come with a custom sheath. Too many fixed blade guys sell here to pay Medford those prices. Casey Bradshaw sells a badass fixed blade everyday for less than $300 delivered.

Thanks guys for your replies. I did not post this here to rant about someone because I have better things to do in my life....like buying more knives ;) but to give folks here so hard proof and to tell the truth. I sent them an email like 3 weeks ago or so and no replies and today instead of sending me an email because trust me I posted it with full name and he has my email he didn't, instead he just deleted it like nothing. I have no hope at all Greg will either read and/or do anything to remedy their manufacturing and engineering problems...after all he is Greg Medford. People in this forum also need to know for example that Greg only accepts Medford knives with absolutely all pieces of paperwork for warranty. It is not to proof you are the original owner but instead (and this is from a video he did about it) so he can verify the knife is not a Chinese knock off. Seriously man, you make and built and apparently hand grind every single knife that goes out and you could not tell your own product from a Chinese knock off???? If I ever hear Hinderer, strider or CRK say something like that I will dig a hole and put myself in it lol. If the Chinese knockers can make a knife as good as what Greg can make to the point that he can't even differentiate them then wtf I'm gonna buy them from China! I am just trying to inform people the hard reality of Medford Inc. I have almost $3K worth of his knives, and I'm worried where I keep my packaging now because I don't want to loose any paperwork. Would I still EDC his knives? Hell yeah I truly believe the Praetorian G is worth every penny and the Viper is an amazing piece of knife. You grab any of those knives and you really want to just stab something hahaha. I know jettavr6 story and I truly feel about you brother. I tried doing research about Medford and no one says things straight up the way it is. Well I am doing that now. I have spent $3K in his knives, would I buy another of his knives? Maybe if the prices are cut in half and he comes down from his self made pedestal and get humble for once and get his engineering up to par to his prices. It is UNACCEPTABLE to have a sheath like this for a $750 knife.

Too many quality knife makers out there who'll honor the warranty of any knife they've made. They don't need paperwork and you don't have to be the original owner. I'm sorry, its sounds like your bummed out brother. Time to support another maker, plenty nice ones out there. I've never owned a Medford and never will, they were rude on the phone twice and I only called twice.

haha I didnt want to waste my saliva and breath so I did not call. If I dont answer an email my company looses big money...I guess they need to learn the hard way!!

I have been with Pedro since day one on this. He has been dealing with this sheath for almost a month, I hope you get this issue solved brother. I know first hand your love for their product. Your not a customer I would want to lose

hmmmmm this is weird.....I just checked the video where I put the first comment (metallurgy 101) and it is back in there now lol I guess somebody reads these threads once in a while lol

Hello Pedro,

I thought it prudent to respond to your frustration with Medford Knife & Tool. Firstly, the post on YouTube was not deleted by Greg, but by YouTube. Greg tries to discourage foul language on YouTube, so he is notified anytime there is a red flag regarding those types of things. Secondly, we have second-to-none customer service and are extremely available either at our factory telephone number -- 623-249-4506 -- or Greg's personal cell phone number -- 480-227-2399 -- when we have any concerns regarding our product, whether it is good or bad. (You can just ask any of our customers who need warranty work on their Medford knives. We respond immediately, and send warranty issue knives out generally the same day they are received.)
Greg and I viewed this post together just a few minutes ago, and neither he nor I recall having heard from you regarding this issue/concern. Also, just so you know...I have never felt more confident about working for a strong customer service, family-oriented company, and I am very surprised at the response in your post. If you are truly concerned about the SAWnto sheath issues, you have to only call Greg or Amy at the factory directly, and we will be available to discuss your concerns pretty much anytime! I am sorry to see someone so adamantly ranting about our product without addressing their concerns directly through us at the factory, and I am very glad that we have loyal customers who notify us when things of this nature arise on forums such as this, or I would have never known about your concerns, and this would have never been resolved :-(...
Pedro, I look forward to your call at your earliest convenience!!

I can attest to the fact that Pedro LOVES his Medfords and would like nothing more than to resolve this issue. Thank you guys for responding to this issue...
