If you had previous dealings with Greybush, and have received your stuff back, I want to hear from you.
Should we allow him back at Bladeforums? Does he deserve another chance?
Why?
If you haven’t had dealings with Greybush, please keep the comments short. I primarily want to hear from people who did business with him, and I want to make sure they have been taken care of.
Please post in the thread. If you want to comment, and keep it private, please PM me. DO NOT email. Having issues.

I have not had any dealings with Greybush and I have been here but a short time. IMHO the amount of time and effort he caused others to respond to, act for, moderate, etc for transactions that he should have taken care of is not in the best interest or spirit of these forums. :numbness:

I'm having a hard time understanding why Greybush deserves another chance.

From what I've read, Greybush let others clean-up a mess that he alone created. In order to do this, Moose45 had to spend his own money to send everything to the rightful owners. When did he earn back the trust that was lost?

I vote no. It's not OK to knowingly expose us to a known risk.

Unless whatever Mod (or Mods) that decides to let him back is going to stand behind any sale/trade he makes.

Or maybe, maybe, if he were permanently forbidden from buying/selling/trading on BF again.
I don't know what went on in his private life, and I hope life is better for him these days, but he has proven that he will do the wrong thing (or at least fail to do the right thing), when faced with challenges.

Agreed...

There are issues not public that deserve consideration. Several respected members here (including some moderators) have stood up for Greybush and that means something. Please read Mike G's initial post and respond accordingly.

Mike, do you want people who haven't dealt with him ourselves to vote?

Yes, you can.

We primarily want to hear from those who have had business with him. A Jason stated; there are some circumstances that are not public knowledge that is driving this discussion.

Thank you.

Voted.

So you're making it an open to the public poll and not sharing the mitigating circumstances? That's not right. Better you should privately poll the individuals involved after giving them the information.

We don't know what went on in his life. I say yes but make him buy a platinum membership for the trouble. "Every saint has a past and every sinner has a future"

I've had no dealing with the man. But I've read the threads and I believe in second chances in some situations. So I voted yes.

Aside from the that thread, I don't know much about the man, but if he was a good and honest poster before that incident, I'd allow him a conditional return. No selling or trading allowed, he'd be confined to discussions only.

I have a case of the ASS so please bare with me.

Greybush lied to and deceived many good people on this forum.
He has never to my knowledge contacted WilliamM, K-9 Handler, Rkmoore, or myself to say he was sorry.
He contacted everyone except those he took money from.

Greybush did sent out extra stuff as a peace offering.
He publicly posted an apology

Greybush I accept yours apology and thankyou for the sheath.

Everyone can make a mistake and should be forgiven.

I voted NO.

We have Moderators for a reason. It appears that his explaination is satisfactory to them or they would not be taking this poll. Maybe Greybush should have communicated better but people do run into hard times. I can speak from experience I had something going on with my son several years back that took us by surprise and I was quickly consumed by it. I say give him a chance and members can decide on their own weather or not to deal with him.

I think that if the public is given a choice to vote on whether Greybush is re-instated, then the public should be privy to the facts of why he failed to complete his obligations with people... IMO an informed decision whether to permit him to return or to keep him banned is not informed with out the behind the scenes circumstances being made public knowledge.

I have no dog in this fight, and don't know Greybush from Adam, but this community is based on trust and he violated that trust. Will this set a precedent that anyone who fails to make good on a trade, sale or other transaction and is banned for it be allowed to state their case and have their membership re-instated? I think that is a bad idea. If they actually cared, they would have made the effort to make things right while they were here.

I did vote, and I voted NO. I don't think he should be allowed to return to bladeforums. IMO there are some other members, who, although their personalities were abraisive, were valuable to bladeforums, were banned, and were not allowed back.

If, and only if, those involved in this matter are okay with it than I say "okay". I voted yes.

If has alread been banned I question as to why this issue has even arisen?

Based on the experience of those who dealt with him I vote no.

Have many others been afforded this courtesy?

He had obligations to people and failed to deliver. Many other people had to step in with their own time and effort to get him to do what should have been done in the first place. Beckerheads are a pretty easy going and understanding group of people, Simple communication would have went a loooooong way with most if not all of them. Personal issues are just that, personal and should not be used as an excuse for poor judgement and behavior. When people are down you find out what they are made of.

If it had been, Hey guys I apologize but some serious personal issues arose and I can't deliver but will return/refund as soon as I am able to, then yes, crap happens to everyone. Unfortunately this was just jerking people around and then a disappearing act until others stepped in on his behalf to do the legwork and chide him into doing the right thing.
No.

So my thing is, even if the polls come in with an overwhelming no, will the mods allow him back?
