Is that kenny behind the blue tarp?
Not to worry GS- I used the hell out of that Zaan last night; pretty hard use carving up that succulent chicken! It's to keep that CRK looking smooth and unused.
Likewise! That is absolutely stunningly beautiful scenery up in that mountain valley. Where exactly is that location wise on the map? And thanks for the temperature conversion, looks like it's going to be getting pretty cold up there. We hit about 80 again yesterday, beautiful sunny day and the water was amazing, but cold compared to the 72 degrees we had for about 3 weeks prior to that last storm that came blew through.Beautiful scenery![]()
Not sure about the old one....but this new thread here in the CC sure rocks!New Greyline thread is so much better than the old one!
Thanks for moving it, mods!
Hey good top of the morning to you, BK! I actually prefer my Zaan much more than the Sebenza. I honestly thinks the Zaan is CRK greatest masterpiece out of all of his brilliant designs.Kelama, how do you like your Zaan, compared to a Sebenza?

^ AMAZING! I really appreciate you sharing this, I love the mountains....but to be able to go out up such extremely rugged and challenging conditions, and excel, takes a pretty tough mind set and love/passion for wanting to be up there; kind of how I feel when I'm out doing my thing in the Ocean. Now I think I'm starting to understand, why your part of the World, ALWAYS wins ALL of the medals in some of the Winter Olympics disciplines! The Länta valley is in the Canton of Grisons, my favorite part of Switzerland. Definitely going there again next winter and ski down the glacier.

Backcountry skiing is my thing and Grisons is perfect for my styke of skiing. The mountains there are less steep and more connected, compared to central Switzerland. I spend a lot of time there during winter, going on multi day tours, sleeping in iglous or snow caves. Last season was the worst in over 20 years though. Almost no snow while the rest of the world had record snow falls...
I saw parts of California had 600in of snow last season.
I hope i'll manage to visit Alaska for skiing within the next two years, we'll see...

On your Lanta Valley Cantons adventure, did you set out by yourself and do you meet many other people when you're up there?
Did you ever read the book written by Joe Simpson, his unbelievable miracle survival story, Touching the Void? One of the most incredible survival stories I've ever read, right up there with Into Thin Air. FWIW: I have no desire and would never even consider climbing Mount Everest, even with all expenses paid.
Man, I was on holiday 2 weeks ago in the gulf. They’re evacuating the area where I stayed. I’m hoping the storm peters out and just blows off some shingles. Smoke sent to anyone near the gulf!Jdottinger Thanks for the invite brother.
Slow day down here in the swamp. We finally got some rain the other day and I had to add water to the pool this morning, go figure.
Keeping an eye on this disturbance in the Gulf.
This is a great resource to track storms:

Looks like 50-50 cat one or two. Some models have it higher but too early to know.Man, I was on holiday 2 weeks ago in the gulf. They’re evacuating the area where I stayed. I’m hoping the storm peters out and just blows off some shingles. Smoke sent to anyone near the gulf!
… and you haven’t invited us over?We finally got some rain the other day and I had to add water to the pool this morning, go figure.
Batten down the hatches and stay safe.they've put in evacuation orders on the coast already. even Pasco county I heard. now to see where the eye hits and the storm surge and tornados that drop in north east quadrant.
thats the really bad stuff. rest is lots of wind gusts and nonstop rain. tree topples over and hits vehicles or house and power down routine. never fun but survivable.......
thank ya Sir. i'm inland...I'm safe as can be......now coastal folks I worry about. some will try to tough it out and that never goes well.....keep your prayers and thoughts for them.....if storm surge is strong , and i hope it aint, they'll need it.......Batten down the hatches and stay safe.
