I use it for kydex and it is great for that. I imagine it would be nice for softer metals and woods but not tool steel. There is not a fence to split blocks. Overall I like it because I got it for kydex and it works well for that.
 
Daniel, I noticed you mentioned that you grind on HT steel so you don't get any warp. I'm working on some 1095 blades right now and some of them have single sided chisel grinds. Is this going to cause me warp when I send them out for HT? I've ground several blades, but just haven't sent any out for HT yet.
