I love my Griptillians, mini and large. My only problem is that the handle on the large Grip feels chinzy and hollow. I believe it is because it does not have full liners. Anyway, I was wondering if the large Ritter Grip (or any other manufacturer for that matter) comes with a more substantial feeling handle? Thanks.

Google "wilkins grips'. That's what most ppl are happy with.
I'm good with the way they come from the factory :)

Wilkins grips are nice if you are willing to drop the coin for them.

If not you can disassemble your 'Grip and filll in the hollow spaces with duct tape , I used gorilla tape little cutout squares , one guy used flattened fishleads and epoxy to make it sound less wimpy when opening.

There's a thread in Maintanence and Embellishment if you search.

Check out the new Bone Collector that is coming out. G10 handles on the sucker. Very similar to a Grip.

 Mine has taken a beating and strength to weight ratio it is one of the best products out there. It is light and a user. Like the all FRN handles from Spyderco. They also feel 'cheap' to some.

Scars.

Scars. AS far as I know no Griptilian has full liners except the small ones. I might be wrong but do think you might be out of luck. There is another guy from germany that also make Griptilian G-10 grips, but cant remember his name. Will look for it and let you know. They are a bit cheaper then Wilkins and he does a great job.

blog.cuscadi.de also makes custom scales. German site, so I'm not sure about prices, shipping etc. What they have there looks neat though, loving the wood especially

I have a set of orange Wilkins on my Ritter Grip. They totally change the look and feel of the knife, no more hollow clak when it opens, has a nice weight to it now (balanced), and they are comfortable. They also make it easier to clean, with the original grips, stuff would get stuck in there (after a field dressing for example). Hard to say if they are "worth it"

Like most I like them factory fresh right out of the box. In 10 years I may have to buy another. :D Seriously, I would love to see a pic, any pic of broken scales from Grip. Oh no, I’m sure there are many out there. After all, there is like 100 million in circulation.

Here is a legitimate solution. Others in this thread along with myself know a guy who likes the Grip but has the same feelings as you. In fact, it’s not an uncommon complaint. OK, this guy takes the Grip apart and fills the honeycomb pattern inside the scales with…. I think stuff from around the house. Like led slip shots (fishing weights) or tiny ball bearings. Stuff like that, puts them in the honeycombs and fills it with rubber cement. Let dry to taste and reassemble.

Instant heavy Grip that sounds like a bank vault closing rather than that CLACK!!! I love that Clack.

Ya know it’s the Honeycomb inside the Grip that gives it it’s strength.
