ok...I keep hearing about the edge thicknesses on this thread, but where is this measured from???

Edge thickness usually means at the top of the edge bevel itself.

You have to give credit to Cliff to actually think to thin it out, and to Tom for doing such a good job thinning it out, and actually taking the job in the first place. It sure cuts like hell. If I recall there was a thread where people were calling Cliff crazy for wanting to thin out the U2 and saying it wasn't possible. Tom obviously proved those people wrong in spades.

Did that leave any of the laminate cladding? Did it take it down to only the SGPS? Man, I am having trouble visualizing this. Any pix?

It still has the cladding. Sorry for the crappy pic, it doesn't really do it justice, but here it is:

I wish I had some skill to show an edge into shot, that is what you need to really appreciate how thin it is.

Wowza!!! You think you could make me one of these if I had a new Griptilian shipped to you directly? That would be sick!

I'm into Sebenza's for EDCing but i think a tilian would be a perfect choice for me with one of those gorgeous hollow grinds...

You folks know this thread was from 2007 right? Tom has at least temporarily left the regrind market and might be done with it for good. Check out his knifemaker sub-forum on the USN, PM me if you do not know what the USN is and I will reply.
