grogimus grogimus your work is simply beautiful.

Thanks Jo! It's easy to get motivated to make the sheaths when I keep getting such kickass knives from you guys.

Only his face hit every single ugly branch as he was chuted down from above :D

It wouldn't be fair if I was charming, witty, modest, AND good looking now would it?

I agree 100%. Here’s mine. Sorry for the poor pics, they don’t do it justice. I’ll have to try to take some better ones when I get a chance.

Thanks Gus! And thanks for the pics, they're way better than the ones I took! Mind if I borrow them?

You got your BC sheath the first out of everyone else, probably because you're too handsome! I'm still waiting for mine which means... Oh wait!!! :D
I am proud to announce that Grog has agreed to make a sheath for my Dan Keffeler Sasquatch:thumbsup: He also informed me that your order would be delayed (Maybe months) to complete this project for me:eek: I then inquired about possibly making 2 Sasquatch Sheaths for me so-well you do the Math Casino:p

This is an ode to my Friend grogimus grogimus . Knowing of Dan's shy nature (don't believe any of his ballyhoo stuff on here as he's essentially an introvert) this will make his inner feelings rise like a lead-balloon!

I met Dan on the Survive! subforum and I teased him so much about his clumsy and losing ways of bidding for CPKs when we both came over here that we eventually called it a truce and we became friends (if Nathan had 10 offerings, Grog would come in at 11th, if Nathan had 15 knives, Grog would snag up # 16 with pride and even if 20 units, he'd somehow manage to be the 21st even when the sales were no where near as cutthroat as they are these days!!!... You get the idea of his mad skills and great aptitude :D )

Anyhow, I parted with my prized Behemoth over a month ago to help out Dan to make a few sheaths for Bob, Nathan's surprise sheath and then for me. I'm glad that in the process, he picked up orders from Gus and Kyle (Gustradamus & ManofSteel89). Anyway, I helped out his slow arse to score a BC yesterday and from here on out you're all on your own as I received back My Baby Behemoth safely in the mail this AM(that's his name: My Baby) along with its sheath plus a matching sheath for one of my HDFKs and another sheath fro my EDC (not shown in here). I know that it seems like I shill for Grog quite a bit, not because he seems to need it but because I know that it teases him as he's really shy plus it acts as a motivator for him to get his name out there. He never asks for anything in return (I have to push him for an invoice!!!) and AFAIAC he really gives his stuff away! Hey young Man! You have two other mouths to feed (his dogs: Gypsy and Albert... Well not really Albert but he looks like an Albert to me!), so get on with it and may you get oodles of future orders which you deserve even if that success comes at the expense of me getting bumped o_O

Finally, in no way shape or form I would want to discourage giving business to some of the other very fine and talented sheath makers who frequent this subform both as customers and also as craftsmen. Also I understand that Grog's wares may not be for everyone specially those who seek modern and streamlined patterns, but if you like sheaths with the old-school looks, lots of soul, unique graphics (extra charge please!) or an array of interestingly stamped designs, plus the kinda heavy duty sheaths that should withstand mortar attacks; well, Dan's the Man!!!

Here are my tomahawk stamped pattern duo for the Behemoth and the NASK. The slate-ish / plum-ish colors came out just as I had wished them to. THANK YOU SOOO VERY MUCH DAN:

I will be VERY eagerly awaiting to see as to what you and Grog decide to collaborate on that Sasquatch. I really wanted to go for one of those and will perhaps will do so in the future since the Behemoth had been secured and already added to my CPK-Posse

P.S. waiting for Bob's HELOC on his Island since my oil-well happens to be smack in the middle of his private island

I used to cringe a little when I'd give him a compliment, because he has such a hard time accepting one due to that unassuming nature, and I knew that he'd really just rather I leave it alone. Well Dan your work is just too nice not to generate compliments, so I'm glad Casino found you to begin the compliment-acceptance behavior modification therapy!

Mat those are beautiful bud

Thank you V much Dave

His sheath work has certainly gathered tremendous steam for an ugly duckling (him Grog, not his work even at the beginning!) who used to just waddle in the S! subforum with his hobby sheaths. I hope that he can become a commercial success at this which he loves to do. Oh, he cringes when any write up about him is sappy, so you do know him well too :D

I have a few coming from the man himself soon. This is the pic of my BC sheath that he made for me. His pic, I’ll be getting it when my others are finished.

Kyle, that's my Behemoth in your sheath! :D

OK, Family forum here!!!

That color will look great and better with your unbuffed natural micarta handle scales ;)

Thanks for all the nice words guys. If any of you have an itch to give sheath making a shot you should definitely do it. Paul Long's DVD's are awesome and I'd be happy to offer any advice such as it is. I have a half-assed notion to get a video camera and try and capture how I do the figure carved sheaths. I think it'd be neat for people to see more about how their sheaths are made but I also don't know that I want to spend too much time learning about video editing and whatnot.

Finally, in no way shape or form I would want to discourage giving business to some of the other very fine and talented sheath makers who frequent this subform both as customers and also as craftsmen. Also I understand that Grog's wares may not be for everyone

Amen to that. I've had sheaths from Rick Lowe, Mark Condos, and Dwayne Puckett and loved them. I hope to treat myself to a sheath from @cpirtle (Chad Pirtle, Pirtlemade) and maybe even go nuts and get one from Paul Long(aka @sheathmaker ). Just like knives, every maker has their own benefits to offer. Heck, I have a bunch of Kydex that I like quite a lot. Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't say again, and again, and again, how lucky I was and grateful I am to happen across Paul Long's DVD's. Much less the ability to read all of the information he's posted over the years and being able to talk to him directly on the phone. I'm pretty sure I would have gotten frustrated and moved onto something else without that info. And of course how lucky I was to happen into this awesome little corner of the knife world where Nathan, Jo, Mark, and Lorien design and make these knives we all love to use, collect, talk about, and drool over.

Just to pop my own bubble, you can ask Gusbuster Gusbuster about how I'm doing on his Shiv sheath. :D Very nice looking sheath done in a Bowie style with a Sam Browne stud instead of a belt loop. I tried lining it with sheepskin to protect the handle from the back of the Sam Browne stud and it wrinkled up like a son of a Bisquick. Bam, trashed sheath and back to the drawing board!

Never put your Behemoth in another man’s sheath.

No sir, my BC has TeroTuf on it.. for now.

Ah yes of course! It was with TeroTuf...

On a side note, I wasn't the one who put my Behemoth in your sheath. I already have zeroed in on a legitimate suspect for that!
