Well, they're finally done!! Hope you enjoy the pictures. I've included a pic of the group and one of each of the black linen and tan canvas knives. These will be given out in less than 9 days!! Each will be enclosed in a nylon zippered pouch.

Hope you like them, and let me know what you think.

Oh, by the way, if you missed it, here's the work-in-progress thread following the creation of these knives.

Blades are O-1, tempered at 400F. Full flat grind, convex sharpened edge.

Handles are black linen micarta, tan canvas micarta, and desert ironwood with red or black vulcanized spacers, mosaic pin, and SS lanyard tube. Black linen handles were finished to 800 grit hand sanded finish, canvas micarta to 400 grit, and ironwood to 2000 grit with a light buff. All handles also finished with Danish oil.

Sheaths are custom kydex with 2" hole pattern. Clip can be attached differently for multiple carry positions such as vertical, horizontal, small of back, etc.

It seems that when I am a groomsman I get a gift card. Apparently I need more knifemaking friends.

Thanks guys. Here's a pic of the knife on the waistband. I love spring clips because you don't have to wear a belt all the time. It's very comfortable and ride just about perferctly on the side. Out of the way, but not digging into you.

These belt clips are typically found on gun holsters, etc. They are a spring clip with one end ramped for easily going on your waistband/belt. The other end of the clip has a squared ridge designed to fit through a slot to hold it in place. Maybe this side view of a leather holster I made will help out.

Basically, I drilled a series of holes in a kydex oval and filed them into a slot just a bit smaller than the ridge on the clip. Then I heated the clip and pressed the ridge through the slot for a secure fit. Then the kydex oval/clip is screwed to the sheath with chicago screws.

Hope that helps.

So are these handed out before or after the ceremony? I'm just wondering if your groomsmen are wearing these AT the wedding? Do you need a posse to get this thing done? Just kidding....they look GREAT! Thanks for sharing all along the way!

Nathan, those are awesome! My faves are the black linen micarta and the ironwood (it's amazing). What is the overall length?

Well Done!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Nathan those really look great. You do know don't you that you do not have to get married to have an excuse to make some knives. There are allot better excuses to use than that. :)

Wade,

True that, my friend. However, as lazy as I can be in the shop, sometimes it helps to have a deadline and a wedding-planning-crazed lady to push you to get things done!

That ironwood shiv is DEAD SEXY!! And the execution on all the pieces looks top notch.:thumbup:

Thanks for all the thoughts, guys! I'm glad you all like them. Farmer, I'm heading your way in a bit over a week. We'll be in Kauai staying in Poipu, but we won't be doing any island hopping. I'm looking forward to visiting your state for the first time! The guys will be getting them before the wedding, but we'll let my former commando bad@$$ escort detail take care of the security. :D

Sorry to take so long getting specs up:

5/32" stock hand finished to 800 grit, 3 & 1/4" blade, 4" handle.
