groomsmen nephew gift 13y old

Get him a mora. It's under 20 dollars, fixed blade, carbon steel. A great outdoors/camping knife and its not huge or won't break the bank

Maybe a OH Trekker would make Mom and Dad happy as well as the nephew. How about a nice multi tool?

I know it's been said before , but a Mora for a fixed, or an Opinel for a folder. Those are both very nice and will do everything he would need.

Get him a switch blade ..... What could possibly go wrong

A mora might be a little more appropriate great knife cheap

I'd add that since this is a groomsman's gift, if you give a Mora, go with something in a wood handle, like their classic. The plastic handle is fine for day to day use, but a bit tacky for something that should be a classy gift for a big event.

As someone else mentioned, unless he spends a lot time outdoors, I would suggest a folding instead of fixed blade. This way he can carry it more often. A teen carrying a fixed blade in urban areas is a target for police.

Something like an Ontario Rat 2.

My advice would be to get him something practical and definitely not tacticool.

You need to keep in mind he is still 13-years-old and anything that looks super cool he's going to have the urge to show off or to take places he shouldn't. Some good ones were suggested. An Opinel, Mora, a Buck 110 perhaps. All really great knives that are incredibly functional while deceptively looking otherwise.

That's just my two cents. I think he will hang on to it longer without losing it or getting it stolen or taken. As he grows older if he gets into the hobby as well I think he will have a deeper understanding and appreciation.

Congratulations on the marriage! I truly hope you and your soon to be wife have a great life together. I wish you all the best.
