Tell me if you all feel that going to lithium batteries is the way to go. I have a few flashlights that are better than average and I have never had a leaking battery, but these lithium's intrigue me. Especially for my SureFire (123's) and my Fenix LD20 (AA). Both of these are seldom used and are more for personal protection needs.

Lithium batteries are good for shelf life, they should last 10 years and still work. And I assume that they won't leak within that 10 years like alkalines will. Also Lithiums maintain voltage better throughout their life and at low temperatures. If you have a light with good electronic circuits this isn't as important as it used to be, but this explains why your incandescent lites are usually dim and orange.

For buying CR123 batteries you need to buy those on the internet, they are way too expensive in most stores. You can buy AA Lithium batteries for reasonable prices in stores.

For a light that you don't use frequently and you want to be sure it works when needed I think Lithium is worth the extra cost and trouble.

That TnC looks sweet, post your beamshots! :D

I saw the creepy tunnel over on CPF and the profile looks floody but with a little less spill (reminds me, in a way, of the Thrunite Neutron series). Does the TnC have a more defined/tight hotspot over the conventional XM-L using a reflector? How does it throw?

Throw is amazing for a light this size, and with this large of a hot spot. It is my brightest flashlight at the moment. I emailed the company and am having a 3000k warm white module made at no cost, just a swap out. How awesome is that, really really great service.

To me the hot spot looks wider with a very dim spill and most of the light focused right in the massive hot spot.
Did some wall hunting to give you a better idea. Both on low

Thanks for the beamshots. Chris is a great guy to deal with, and makes some sweet P60 hosts as well. I'm going to put that one on my wishlist.

Not pictured is the first SF I bought, way back in 2005: a black G2. It now rides with the 870P donning a KX4 head. My meager collection is growing quickly. Now I need a few Malkoff drop-ins.

These two arrived today: Ra Twisty and Mac's Customs Stonewashed Aluminum Tri-EDC
