Group Shots

Here are two different views of my JS knives:

Some great collections here, I'll include Dudley's posting his McWilliams in a separate thread.

Here are a couple of older shots of my Jimmy Fikes knives. I really need to retake these!!

This is a group shot of Steketee knives I collected several years ago. These are the stag ones that I took pictures of a while back for a "stag" thread. The Puma White Hunter was a "grail" knife from my youth, and the Stek rendition is still one of my favorites!

I've always had a thing for that Puma design too- that Stek is awesome!

Roger, thanks for this thread. It has inspired me in viewing, and justified my some of my (our?) focus. Good stuff.

I have a growing, dissimilar, and yet similar series of knives I've been acquiring since 2002 (That would be the little fixed utility by RW Clark).

I've grown to like ivory micarta, which seems to come in various shades, and also ages with depth. That wonderful little Ray Cover Sr. slipjoint was a light creamy color when new. It's showing spectacular grain now.

I think the JW Smith is more like white G10 (?) than micarta, but it qualifies.

I've always liked red liners as an enhancement, and when I have the opportunity I sometimes specify that in the build.

I have one build upcoming in antique ivory micarta. He is watching and taking notes. ;)

Thanks! This is fun.

Coop - that's a terrific (not so) little subset you have developed in you collection. It allows for much diversity within a unifying theme. Well presented, as expected.

Here are some of Steve Ryan's folders from the
Michael Talanian collection.
I created this composite from 6 separate original
photographs shot by Eric Eggly of Point Seven, that
I rearranged and put together in Photoshop for a
page in my book.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Seeing these pictures makes me happy and super envious

Here are two more sets of Photoshop-grouped-together-knives,
creating 2 pages in the display of a small part of Michael Talanian's
amazing custom knife collection.

Maybe these will keep you happy a little longer?

First one page with Todd Begg's knives:

Roger, I wouldn't call this much of an improvement. It was done really quick with harsh natural light and with a completely alien camera for me which lost focus around the sides. I added a pearl handled tactical folder so its no longer a white ivory photo, just a white handle photo.

Definitely a better grouping, Jon - and of course, the addition of the Royer didn't hurt any (to say the least!).

Roger

The Royer is funny because if I flipped it over it wouldn't fit the white handle group!
