Curious to know if anyone has received an update or knows the status of this much anticipated knife? It seems like the production schedule update never changes, it has said "R&D Presales shipping after the Cerakoting has been completed" for what seems to be months. Hoping to be able to test it out before the summer is over.....

I ordered Late April and have not recieved any update. Order #8747. Being a newby,I was initially under the impression that they were complete and ready to ship but I found it not to be true. I'm in no hurry. I know the wait will be well worth it

For some reason, even though it was not my first S!K order, I was under the same impression. Sucks to be us.

Check out the production schedule update page, Cru Forge V Cerakoting is DONE!!!! They will start shipping on Monday July 18th. Getting close now.....

Let us hope so… on both statements.

Let us hope so… on both statements.

From the Production Schedule Page:

"Finishing up (In the final stages of production: being finished, sharpened, built, and packed up):

GSO-4.7: Preorders and Presale orders are shipping out in regular batches.
GSO-4.7 Cru Forge V: Cerakoting is done, orders will start shipping 07.18. More will be available after those have all shipped.
"

Sounds definitive to me!

I wasn't doubting one bit what elandan was saying. ;)

I just put it out there because I would really like to see activities on the fulfillment and shipping front. It is crucial for the trust between Survive! and its customers to remain strong :)

I ordered a Cru Forge V 4.7 in late April as well, and the indication at that time was that it would ship the end of May. I payed with PayPal, and was wondering if there was something wrong with the order. So I emailed Ellie about it yesterday. Work has been crazy lately, so not much time to hang out here. I have not heard back from her yet.

I was a fan of S! in the early days in Gettysburg, and I was able to aquire some exceptional knives. I ended up leaving S! for about 1.5 years as I could no longer tolerate the slipping shipping dates with no communication. Well Ellie has totally fixed the communication issue, and I checked back here on one First Friday email update to see how things were going now that the Idaho move was complete. What I learned was Guy was not resting on his initial success, and he was tweaking designs of his successful models making them better, and he was coming out with new models. This really got my S! juices flowing again, and I almost immediately placed 3 preorers. I am learning that my tolerance for the preorders remains steadfast, but for some unexplained reason, the 4.7 issue had really bothered me.

I am no different than many here. I want what I want, when I want it. This attitude does not work well if you want to get an exceptional knife from S! I thought about canceling my 4.7 order as a knee jerk reaction, but then I thought through this. The result would be that I would not get the 4.7, and this I would truly regret. I have no doubt that I will be sent a Cru Forge V 4.7 from S!. I do not think that there are any posts here that imply that they will not get the knives that they have ordered. This is just part of the cost of getting an exceptionally functional knife at an exceptional price. This is the reason that these knives often go for premium prices on the secondary market. Time is money, and if you do not have to invest time, you should have to pay for it to those that did. So now I have been able to take a deep breath, and I am getting anxious to receive my 4.7 as well as the 4.1 that hopefully will shortly follow.

I always appreciate your thoughtful outlook, Mac

I was surprised to see a date set for the cruforge since the 3v 4.7's have had no specific mention and actually I was surprised to see a specific date mentioned period. If SURVIVE! really does ship a substantial number of cruforge on Monday that could be a big mile stone in how they're able to measure their own procedures.

Maybe this explains the lack of output this month if they've been gearing up for a big push of cruforge going out. That's great news for those people who ordered in spring.

Hopefully those of us who ordered LAST spring won't be too far behind.

Beuller? Beuller? Beuller?

Hmmmm … crickets?

Forgive me for my cynicism, but that's about what I figured.

Damn. I so wanted today to be a turning point.

Then again, the wording on the production schedule is "start shipping", so maybe we'll hear more later this week.

What I hope, believe it or not, is that I've seen the end of innovations until I've seen some evidence of shipping of products that have been ordered. I'd honestly rather receive the knife I ordered with old slick-as-snot G10 and "mediocre" heat treat than wait for more innovation. After all, I ordered the knives based on what the reputation of the material already was, and the designs as presented when I ordered. Yeah, it will be great if the knife I eventually receive has the latest features. But that isn't why I ordered it, so I'd be freakin' overjoyed to receive just the knife I ordered.

HAHAHAHAHA! I don't think Guy is about to give up on innovations. He loves them so much, he spends time on them when he doesn't intend to get them on the current model knives. Microtexturing will be standard as of "hoping" the still 4.5 BC? Is that realistically 2018?

You know by now, Guy does what he does, and when he does it will be when it's done.

Hold up now, let's not be getting sour. It always makes me preorder another knife and I've got a CPK field knife and a Big Chris Nessmuk to pay for this week! 😂
