GSO 5.1 factory second shipping?

Hi all -

I am new to the forum, so please forgive me if this has already been posted somewhere else. I bought a 5.1 factory second a few weeks ago, but it has not shipped yet. Can I ask what others experience has been with ordering a factory second - how long did it take to receive it? I was under the assumption that the knife was ready to ship if it was listed on their website as a second. I am sure I just lacking patience.

I appreciate any feedback! Thank you!
 
Just as info....

I ordered on April 11 within 5 minutes of the seconds being made available and still show as "Awaiting Fulfillment" as of 6p EDT today.(5.1 in 3V with Camo and OD Green Sheath)

I have no doubt it is well worth the wait and will ship soon.

I ordered on 4/11 and I have the same status "awaiting fulfillment." I am sure it will be worth the wait as well - I thought they were ready to ship though.

They will go from Awaiting Fullfillment to shipped in all in one day.
 
I ordered my 5.1 seconds soon as they went on sale Mon the 11th. My paypal sent
the money today. I was hoping to see a shipping today. I must check a few times every day to
see if anything has changed. haha
 
The folks at SURVIVE! are really good people and will most definitely take care of you. They have super high expectations of their products and themselves, I just wonder if it is time to change the wording on the website. I don't think stating that Monday sales could take a month to get shipped would turn customers away, but I imagine it would go a LONG way in reducing emails and questions and complaints and do a lot for Ellie's sanity.

Now I'm not trying to say I don't have faith in the S! team, but from a PR standpoint, just imagine if you were told and prepared for a month wait and then got your knife in 5 business days. I think that would be pretty awesome from the customer's point of view compared to the opposite.

I just checked and no Necker II came up for sale and the option on the 4.7 2nds seems to have sold out within 10 minutes.

Personally, I am going to wait on any further 2nds till I receive the 2 x GSO 5.1s I which I had ordered on 4/11. Ellie was very kind to contact me with an issue regarding the black G10 handles which I gladly switched to the camo canvas but as a follow up I also emailed to have the torx fasteners switched to tumbled as opposed to black oxide which I had chosen for the black G10s, but I never heard back. As someone who does a lot of business online, I strongly recommend that Team Survive! does follow up on email messages that they receive, even if it is from folks who are irritated with the delays (not in my case) While they are busy, it is not unreasonable to expect some sort of response with 48 hours (which is what their generic email response states).

These are good folks who make great products and I'd hate to see them slip on something as simple as a follow up. They don't need to babysit customers but a simple follow up is crucial. Just MHO.
 
There were Necker II'S but they were gone before the 4.7 in 20CV were gone.
I just checked and no Necker II came up for sale and the option on the 4.7 2nds seems to have sold out
(which is what their generic email response states).

I totally agree. And I don't say this to mean I don't think the team is capable or shouldn't be optimistic, but if you don't have history with the company then optimism can come off as dishonesty. I do want the team to feel good about the work they do and basing the projections on the site to what has been proven in recent history could reduce a lot of inquiring emails and whining and confusion on Facebook. That's a win/win, right?

I must have checked the 4.7 first and had a chance to order but I was lukewarm. The numbers must have really been limited as even the 4.7s lasted under 10 mins :eek:

I like this reverse psychology approach. I think it would do a lot to help with the mindset while waiting. Not so much for those of us that have been down the road before, but definitely with new orders.

Both of mine are still showing awaiting fulfillment and on one of 'em they had the same issue with the black G10 scales.

Now I need to put a bottle of vodka to my lips, assume fetal position and curl into a blanket! I want my Mummy!
 
Ya, but it's the one I ordered for my buddy! Mine is waiting for black and red g10. I guess like any good friend would do, I should unbox it and do a few fuzz sticks and some light batoning. You know, just to make sure there are no defects :D
