Guaging interest in a Ferro Keychain Project.

Not so sure, but I will throw out another idea.

How about a spy capsule made out of ferreconium? Steel cap with built in striker and room for some tinder or other possibles inside?

IMO this wouldn't work for two reasons. 1. Ferrocerium is a brittle metal. I've had my larger ones split right down the middle, the entire length, just due to changes in temperature. 2. Ferocerium corodes very easily. Once the paint gets removed it will literally rot to nothing pretty quickly. So once you wear the paint off the threads it would start to deteriorate there.

I use the little sparky keychain thingies in my Neckpouches.... its nice to have the magnesium on it when you need it.

What if I turned down a piece of Magnesium to fit inside the Spy Capsule?
I think it would be a lot of work for you, with minimal return. I am not sure cutomers would pay for your time and effort when they can buy a Doans.

I will say that you turn out some beautiful work.

I once thought of puting a ferro rod into a round of fatwood, like a pencil lead...

might be worth a prototype...... I'm not gonna do it.... but you're welcome to steal my "million dollar idea"..... lol... I want 3% of sales.... and a coffee.
