Recommendation? Guard Material for Counter Terrorism Knife

Been trying to find some of that mainly out of curiosity. I’ve seen it used on some knives but I really don’t know anything about it.

I wouldn’t be so much worried about the machining as I would the weight. But, I hadn’t considered the potential zombie aspect.

Valyrian steel would make a great guard; I have also heard good things about Vibranium steel from Wakanda...

Although I can't find any tables in Larrin's book (sheesh), those 2 would be my choice for those close encounters...

Vorpal blade and Vibranium guard ... that is my go-to anti-terrorism knife. It used to be depleted uranium, but that is so 1990's.

It is semi serious. Just with humor sprinkled in at varying doses. I’m basically looking for materials that are either dark to begin with and/or methods for darkening material to use on guards and such with a good laugh sprinkled in.

Sometimes on the internet people argue about lesser things. I don’t know if that’s ever happened on here or not… But, I like to learn and hear ideas but try not to take things too serious. Life is too short. Sometimes even the silliest of comments sparks an idea that I can’t let go of.

I suggest a carbon fiber guard as it is light and strong. Or at least a combination steel and carbon fiber guard. The front face could be hardened steel epoxied to a carbon fiber body. Think armored carbon fiber.

Or maybe a multi-layer approach. Stack two or more pieces of thicker CF between three or more pieces of thin-ish metal. Alignment pins would hold everything in place while shaping… I like it. Whether on this knife or another I’m absolutely going to try this at some point. Black carbon fiber with dark grey steel would look nice together.
