Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I have gone up in the air a few times myself Vince, and am now getting a bit old for that kind of thing! :D

Definitely! :D

I didn't think that was grumbling Harvey! :D I'm from Yorkshire - if they ever make grumbling into an Olympic sport, I reckon we could beat the world! :D

That's a nice William Rodgers my friend, it gives me an excuse to show mine (I have a third I need to photograph) ;) :D The knives were made by John Clark, who having acquired the defunct William Rodgers mark, used it as a stand-alone brand, with considerable success

Sorry to post this in the thread, but I know very little about Lambs Foot knives but would like to know more. A fellow forum member suggested I contact you and ask to be placed on an email list? Is that a possibility? I was unable to leave a message for you on your profile. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for showing it and giving the dimensions Mike . That is just a very fine old Lambfoot . IMO it has everything going for it . Carry it in good health my friend .

Harry
Will do, Harry! It appeals to a lot of my senses as well.

It's usually the voice in my stomach ;) :D That one was a generous gift from Charlie @waynorth :) While it looks like dark wood, the other actually has buffalo horn covers (the third is the same, but with covers of compressed fibre). I think it actually says 'RODGERS' Harvey, you just need a stronger loupe ;)

Glad it made it Jose - and the card too! :D The plastic box was just to protect the knife in transit :) Hope you enjoy your ebony '18 my friend :)

Great-looking knife, the mark was used by a series of co-operative cutlery companies. Nothing high-end about them, but they made good knives. I always buy them when I can :) Booth @Cambertree and me have one :)The absence of 'England' has no relevance I'm afraid

Good to see your meat and potatoes knife Ron :)

:D
Thanks for the additional in, Jack! And a fine example you’ve got there, yourself!

Great jigging!

You should be able to learn a great deal from this thread Murdamook (see the link to the thread index in post #1) There is a Guardians email list, but only paid BF members can leave visitor messages or start conversations with other members. Membership is inexpensive, and is a good investment in my opinion

Thanks mate, that's mine and Chin's :) Here's a pic of mine with the blade open

Lovely old knife, Jack, and very neat old box as well.

Great to see some other old Lambfoot models mixed in with the new ones, thanks all.

Cool picture, Dwight. Looks like a dream.
Thanks John

@Foddering -I’m with you, Dwight. If I were to get on skates...That will no longer ever happen. Always a fine view of your Damascus Lambsfoot.
Thanks Harvey

I guess the grumbling was the voice in my head.:) That is a beautiful double bladed example, as well as the Ebony single blade. I wonder why the Rodgers was changed to Rogers
That is a lovely Rodgers you have Harvey. In regard to your question, I believe yours is marked Rodgers as well.

Jack Black Jack Black - Beautiful Rodgers Jack.

The more I look at this patter the more like it and think it would suit my edc needs well.

I was wondering if anyone had any advice on which websites to purchase from for shipping to USA and which makers arent so much of a gamble buying sight unseen.

I'm willing to spend around 50 dollars for the knife not including shipping costs. Any idea on average shipping costs across the pond? I would prefer wood handles or stag. I really like the look of stag on this patter though.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks guys, I plan on enjoying this knife as I think they're meant to be. By dropping it in my pocket and toting it to work tomorrow. It it a beautiful knife, but also stout and says " I'm built for WORK!" I often think ,handling a knife from a small company, the employees have a closer connection to their products. Not to say someone working for Case or Buck doesn't feel pride in their products, I'm sure they do. But its easy for me to imagine someone at GEC or the Sheffield makers looking at a knife they've created in their hand, and hoping it finds its way to someone who'll appreciate it and their work. Well to the last person at A. Wright and Sons to hold this one before it left your doors and maybe pondered its fate, if you should read this,I appreciate your work.

About 24 hours ago, I "multi-quoted" a large number of posts from 8-10 pages in the thread. I often select posts before bed at night and then post responses to them before breakfast the next morning :thumbsup:, and that was my intent last night. But when I got up this morning I discovered that my computer (or the gremlins that control it) had decided to update several software apps and to reboot the computer. All of my lambsfoot multi-quotes disappeared with the restart.:mad: I went through my post selection process again this morning, but then got too busy to post responses. So I'll do that in the morning.

I'm really here now just to post another photo of my horn lambsfoot I'm carrying this week, the inimitable Lam Jack:
