Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning, folks.

I have a few nice anonymous knives Dylan, and it is frustrating :( At least you know that one was made in Sheffield ;) Very interesting knife, and beautiful of course :)

Thank you, Jack. Sometimes, having a little mystery can be quite an attraction all in itself.

Your blond horn is white-hot, Dylan!:thumbsup:

Cracker Jack is back!

Thank you so much, GT! It is nice seeing your Cracker Jack, it is sporting some wonderful Stag.

Well this thread has inspired me. I selected a buffalo A Wright.
I find myself almost always carrying at least 1 straight edged blade with me on a daily basis, either as a secondary blade on a multi blade knife or a stand alone knife. Therefore giving a lambsfoot a try is not that far of a leap. Straight blades a so useful in many cutting duties and I am looking forward to work with the lambsfoot.
It shipped today so it will not be long now.
Here are some pictures Sarah and Jane sent me from A Wright.

It looks like you will be getting some beautifully feathered horn. A very nice example to whet your teeth on, for sure. I hope you take to the pattern, I find that the Lambsfoot blade shape is likely one of the most versatile straight edged blades out there. It doesn't have the acute point of a wharncliffe but it is stronger, while providing some of the same benefits due to its taper.

I will be looking forward to reading your thoughts on it once you get it in hand.

Oh, 'that 'ol thing'! Great looking horn, and mug! Love those photos, Dylan! Keep 'em coming!:thumbsup:

Thank you, Dennis! I will certainly do my best. Half the battle is trying to keep up here .

Today, I decided to put a special knife in my pocket. It is the first Lambsfoot I bought and the second one I had acquired. It is Ebony, sporting dramatically different sides, one being what you see below and the other being jet black. It has been on many an adventure; elk hunting, mushroom hunting, wilderness hiking, etc.

I'd be hard pressed to part with it, for sure.

Yes indeed Dylan :) There are many reasons why a knife may be produced without a mark of course, even today some still prefer to have their contract knives made lacking a maker's stamp. I have always preferred to be more honest when having knives made for me, but knowing Sheffield cutlers as I do, I can certainly understand why their contract customers would feel a need to protect themselves from unscrupulousness

Ooof, you landed a stunner there, Ron! How do you like the dam. blade?
Thanks for the compliment! :) I love the Damascus blade. It adds a certain elegance and a touch of class to the knife. It's also 1 of 5 so I like also. :)

Glad to hear they're getting closer Ron! :) Lovely pile-side pic my friend :)
Thank you Jack! :)

"My Barlow’s are now in Tennessee!" Isn't that a George Strait song

Sheep are not able to use stairs so the first hydraulic lift was devised in order to resolve the problem of moving them onto the roof"
That's why we moved into a fancy place, it has an elevator. ;):p

Thank you Dave, that's very kind, it's been a hard few weeks

Local folks have told me that the sheep were grazed on the roof to provide both camouflage and meat during WW2, but it seems there were other reasons. The mill-owner was kind of eccentric

I am a bit detached from the days of the week at the moment, but I know tomorrow is Thursday, and I will be off to the market early, I might even walk into town :) I think I'm going to treat myself to a Double Lambsfoot Day, not for the first time recently I admit, but Lucy is craving some exercise I think ;) Just have to remember to put these two in separate pockets  :D

For some of us, being detached from the days of the week is not a one off.:)

You’ll be well equipped with those two beauties.
