Cheers!
Dang that stag is outstanding!!!!

These stag barlows are fantastic Jack!!!

Mine came in yesterday, I had promised the kids dinner and a movie at the drive in last night so just got around to giving it a good flush and oil. Good action, nice snap (after the flush) and I love the stag!

Well done sir!! It might be my new favorite (although the Damascus senator may have something to say about that).

Mine came in yesterday,
Congratulations. Another gem.

Great! Right in my "back yard" as I say. Crystal Basin is one of my favorite places!
Depending on who I go with, the Rubicon can be a nice all-day leisurely ride through the forest, or a four hour speed run where you don't really have time to see much. Both ways can be fun.

Many years ago, Sheffield had numerous firms which specialised in cutting bone and stag, and the big firms had their own experts. Those guys knew what they were doing. Still, I've seen old knives with a similar 'lumpiness' to the handles. I'm not sure when the scales for these knives were cut, it could have been 30 years ago. I don't know if they'll be able to get anymore, which is why I was keen to get as many knives made with it as I could. The quality of their knives has come on a lot over these past few years, but it hasn't been an easy job for me, and I'm afraid there's only so much I can do.

Thanks Ron, those are great pics, the mark-side stag is terrific. If you dislike the handle, send me a PM, and I'll swap it for you my friend
Thank you Jack! I’m truly happy to be able to get these my friend! The Barlow’s are beautiful and the mark side stag is definitely prime! I appreciate all you do working with Wright’s and getting these beautiful knives made for us. I realize and appreciate the fact that you spend countless hours in travel and communicating with Wright’s and all of us Guardians. I know that this is vintage Sambar they are working with and it will certainly be a shame when their supplies are depleted. As I had stated in an earlier post, stag is a natural material and it is therefore not always going to be consistent in appearance. I appreciate your offer to swap it, but I would never ask you to do something like that my friend! The knife is fine Jack! :D

The Loot from Leeds arrived today! :D I had a feeling these were gonna be very special and I wasn't disappointed. Here is one of them for now. View attachment 1149213

Worth the wait, I'd say. This one's fantastic. Looking forward to seeing the other(s)!

Looking forward not backwards, making some "big changes" means I can get closer to my goals.

Cheers to that, Taylor!

Glad that it made it Justin, that's some very stiff competition, but I'm glad you like it :) Did you not tell the kids dinner and the movie would have to wait while you flushed the joints?! :D ;)

Smashing pic Taylor

This will probably be my last one for a while, at least until next year. I wish it was all easier, and that things went smoother, but it has been very hard work, and I'm not keen to repeat the experience soon, nor can I afford to. I know you would never ask Ron, but the offer is there my friend

Beautiful shot, Jack!! Great knife, and fantastic vise!:thumbsup: Been looking for one myself for a few years now, I'm tickled you scored one!
This big package showed up today. I was amazed at all the generosity that was inside, it went a long way to brightening my mood. I thank you, Jack, for the personal touches that dwarf even the impressiveness of the knife. You are a truly fine person! I love the little robot and will enjoy the treats as soon as my other son comes home to enjoy them with me.

As far as the knife is concerned, I don't think I have the words to say how thrilled I am with it. I originally wanted the rosewood but (kind of reluctantly) changed over to the stag. I don't typically like stag because of the unevenness of the sides. But this has such well-matched sides it makes me very happy. I also don't like popcorn stag and was relieved to see this had nice subtle striped stag. In a quick sentence, the stag is perfect. I will echo everybody else on the rest of the knife, it is Wright's best work yet. Fit and finish is top notch, the design details that Jack put in are perfect, and it is a substantial cutting tool. Thanks for all your hard work, Jack.

Here's a quick photo, more to come later...
What a fantastic package, and beautiful knife, John! Indeed, great stag! Hope all is well with you, and the treats and knife has got to make you happy! :)
Great photo, OG! Makes the knife the whole focus!

Hope to finish catching up a little later, been out at my BIL's place, and cell coverage is spotty at best. As usual, so many great photos, posts and ....well, Jack!;)
My photo for the day...

Oh, forgot to post a photo. Jack, this is why I appreciate your hand vise, i restored these two vises, and cleaned up a #100 lb Peter Wright Anvil. So many of these tools are sitting in trendy people's gardens, or rusting in old barns, hard to find.
