Speaking of the chip butty... I endeavored to make myself one the other day, hopefully I stayed somewhat true to the idea, you British folk can steer me straight if needed...
So I stopped at the store and grabbed some potatoes. I tend to prefer red, golden, or purple potatoes when I eat them. They tend to be less dry, have more flavor, and I can turn them into anything really. I picked up a sack of goldens for this experiment, I thought they might lend themselves to being particularly suited to being consumed in a butty. I was on the lookout for a good brown sauce as I do not have one at home but the store I was at had nothing of the sort so I resorted to picking up the only malt vinegar they had on the shelf. After picking up some good white bread, I headed home for lunch.
After washing the potatoes, the Guardian Lambsfoot made short work of them, slicing them into manageable sections.

I do not have a deep fryer so I opted to just fry up the potatoes in some olive oil. Please forgive me if this happens to be a transgression...

While the potatoes (chips) were frying, I spread some butter on a couple slices of bread.

Chips are done, I am rather fond of pepper, so there is a liberal sprinkling of ground black pepper and some seasoned salt.

Laid them out, still hot, on the buttered bread and sprinkled some malt vinegar on them.

Cut it in half and consumed shortly after.

So my first butty was a bit dry I thought, but the flavor was surprisingly excellent. In the absence of brown sauce, I thought some ketchup might do. However, since my household does not consume much in the way of ketchup, I couldn't find any in my fridge so I made up another butty and was more liberal in my application of butter and malt vinegar and that particular one was most excellent. I am still going to get a hold of some good brown sauce and have another go at it but I can honestly say that this was a surprisingly rewarding experience and I am looking forward to my next one.
Well done Dylan, and it's great to see your Guardians Lambsfoot in use

I also discovered that the fans of one of Sheffield's two soccer football teams, nicknamed 'The Blades' have a song, which references the chip butty: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Greasy_Chip_Butty_Song
To the tune of 'Annie's Song', they sing:
"You Fill Up My Senses,
Like A Gallon Of Magnet
Like A Packet Of Woodbines,
Like A Good Pinch Of Snuff,
Like A Night Out In Sheffield,
Like A Greasy Chip Butty,
Like Sheffield United,
Come Fill Me Again..."

My ebony Lambsfoot has just been helping me make...

...mashed potatoes
