You are seriously stepping up your photo game. Spectacular, Dan.:thumbsup:
More great butterflies and Lambs! Great photo, Dan!:thumbsup:
Superb pics Dan :)
What smashing pics. You both must of been waiting for ages for those butterflies to land.
TY Guardians !
I was happy to capture this couple photos. Yesterday we were taking a leisurely walk with my wife and kids when when saw the butterfly and bumblebee happily feeding on a flower by the side of the trail. I asked my daughter to hold the phone while I picked a branch and set up my lambsfoot on a "selfie stick" and had just enough time to get the phone back and snap a couple pics before they flew away :)

LOL! Yeah, I guess so Dave :D The remains of the White Cloth Hall in Leeds date to 1711, but even after restoration, the place is never going to look like the Halifax Piece Hall. The second Leeds White Cloth Hall was built in 1756, but being too small, it was demolished 30 years later, with the third White Cloth Hall (some of which still stands) being built in 1775-76. The sites of both the first and third White Cloth Halls were close to another Leeds mall, which still stands today ;)

That's great to hear! I'm carrying a wee sambar today, too. Ready for some very low-key Labor Day festivities.

@mitch4ging - Thank you Dennis. Your multi quote dedication is quite admirable. Your trooper magnifying glass really cool. Hope things are going well for you. Your HHB looks great.

Reaper AL Reaper AL - A wonderful thing to do. Your grandsons have big hearts which must fill you with pride. Those muffins fresh out of the oven, look tasty.

Jack Black Jack Black - That was a beautiful, generous act of friendship from Al and his two grandsons. And his grandsons requesting to do so, speaks volumes of their character. That bracelet looks sharp. Thank you for sharing those images of your adventures. Your HHB makes for a fine companion.

dc50 dc50 - Nice image, Dave.

Half/Stop Half/Stop - Happy to hear the good news of your brother in law returning home. Nice Sambar Weun Image.

@Prester John - A great look at your Sambar HHB, Vince.

@JohnDF - Love seeing that band image.

D Dschal - Welcome back from your problem solving journey. Fine image of your HHB, Dave.

r8shell r8shell - Those Hotdog, from the legend on the package, look like a healthy choice, as well as a neat image with your wee Sambar. I’ve had them. They’re great.

Good Morning Guardians.

Ingenious! Looks like a fun project! Good job, Kevin!
I think it would make a great pocket knife project for young and old. I'm old and I liked it. :D
Tips I learned from mistakes I made making mine.
The hole in the propeller needs to be twice as big as the nail / pin. This has to do with some mathematical formula that I do not understand but from what I gathered, the propeller "hula hoops" rather than spins.....I think.
The other one is that the propeller probably should be lighter and less chunky than the one on my example. It is kind of hard to get it started and switch directions.

Another link to a study on how it works.

Great pic, Dennis.
The coin made me laugh.

I have a heartwarming tale to share this morning Guardians :) A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I had been looking after my friend's kids for the day, and that we'd been out foraging and practicing knife and fire skills :)

Reaper AL Reaper AL has two grandsons who like to read the Guardians thread, and having seen the pics I posted, one of the boys, who makes Paracord bracelets, asked Al to ask me if he could make some for my friend's kids. I was just amazed by this kind thought, what a fine young man :)

I got my pal to measure up the kids, and in no time at all a large box arrived at Grumble Towers, with a range of goodies from Al and his family. Al's grandson made a couple of bracelets for each of the kids, as well as one for me and their dad, plus some very nice key-chain attachments, and some spare Fire-cord for the boys' tinder kits. The kids have been very excited, and I know they're going to be so thrilled when they receive these gifts from a very kind young man and his grandfather :) Al also has granddaughter's, and having heard that a package was being sent across the Pond, one of them wanted to include something for my friend's daughter, so in addition to the cool bracelets, she has a couple of Beanie Boo's too :)

I am very impressed with my own bracelet, it's the first one I've had which actually fits me (a great piece of guesswork by Al)! :D As you can see it has a special buckle, with a ferro rod and striker (and whistle) to complement the Fire-cord (Paracord with waxed jute twine, which can be ignited even when wet)

Al also threw in some other goodies, a couple of Case belt sheaths and pocket slips, as well as a great pre-loaded leather strop, which I've already used (there's also a very special pocket knife).

I really can't thank Al and his family enough, and will post an update when I give the gifts to my friend's kids :) I'm sure Al's grandson's kindness has raised some big smiles in Guardianland, and that the meticulous quality of his workmanship is being admired - let me just add that this talented young man is six years old! I am just flabbergasted at the way Al and his family have reached out like this, and (honestly) I'm smiling so much my face is hurting! :D We see a lot of generosity here on The Porch, but I think this deserves a special mention :)
Just you posting about it put a big smile on my face.:thumbsup:
Reaper AL Reaper AL This is what happens when you raise them right, you should be, as I'm sure you are, a proud Grandpa.

A stone's throw is close. I should have waved. :)
They lost their game but my nephew played well, so it was well worth the trip.
Well, a really hard throw. ;):D
I'm glad it went well.

Pam and I want to thank all the Guardians for your thoughts and prayers. My brother in law was able to return to his home yesterday afternoon! :D I’m celebrating with another Sambar Weeun today! :D
