Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

At worst, it's a stout workbench/toolbox knife with a blade more versatile than the triangular throw-aways, and a good buy at $13 delivered.

I have finally warmed to the lambs foot, after reading page after page after page ;) of this very long thread. That two blade version you have grabs me, and it looks like a versatile no nonsense work knife. It ticks a lot of boxes for me with the: wood, pen in front of main, the proportions, sturdiness, and overall simplicity. $13 delivered? there must be more to that story.
How big is it closed?
Thanks. Michael

I'm glad the Lambsfoot made it Matt, and that you like it :) Thanks for showing it here. I hope it's a great Thanksgiving carry :) I have to say, I love the way those blades SNAP open! :D

And snap open it does! Its the most satisfying opening snap of any knife I own. My poor thumb nail isnt happy but I imagine it will either get tougher OR the opening will ease up a bit with use!

Matt

I have only one knife that might be considered a "lambsfoot", a Wictorinox gardening knife, but would like to have a finer one. I could get an Otter Anchor knife with bone handle (I'm not sure if the scales are real bone, looks like they are acryl so why do the sell it as bone?). The reviews have been favourable about this knife. Does anyone have an opinion?

We'll get you in the end Michael! ;) :D Nobody really appreciates the pattern until they have one in their hand

Took a couple pictures while waiting for the engine to warm up.
Car payments again after 15 years- there goes my knife budget.

Ouch! Cool pics of your Lambsfoot though :)

Both of those I think Matt :) If you look back through the thread, some members have posted a few tips about breaking in their Lambsfoot knives

Sorry Mr Finn, but that is NOT a Lambsfoot. If you go to page 1 of this thread, you'll see what a Lambsfoot looks like

My quote reads a little ambiguously to me.
I mean seriously, my compliments on the Guardians knife. (Not sarcastic compliments on the rosewood, which is fine anyway except for the misplaced nail-nick).)

Man, I am scatter-brained lately. $13 delivered was the Schrade OT landshark. The rosewood was quite reasonable, but I don't remember how reasonable. And they put the pen-blade over the main nick so I had to do some grinding to get to the main. Got to be a rare mistake on their part.
It looks like this now, so I'm willing to use it hard and it doesn't mind a bit.

3.75" closed, a little under 2.75" main blade.

When I read your post, I WAS wondering about the $13! :D Steal on the Landshark though (think it's at least twice that here) Since it's a ways back in the thread now, it might be helpful to re-post a few pics of the AW knife before and after modding, if you still have them (I'd search for the original posts, but don't find the search function very user-friendly anymore)

Good morning on this Thanksgiving Eve my fellow Guardians!:D This one puts a big smile on my face every time I pocket it. The natural beauty of the Buffalo Horn and the quality and finish make this one a true heirloom. Along with the pocket slip it’s a joy to have this one in my humble flock!:)

Great stuff Ron :) I hope that you and your family, and all our US Guardians, have a very happy Thanksgiving :) Hoping to see a few of your pics folks :)

I'm surprised to have been so unclear. Have to keep an eye on my anaphors.
I added a modified pic to my last post and there's an unmodified pic a page or so back.

Do you have a photo of the unmodified closed (ie showing the nail-nicks)?

Buffalo arrived today,

Oooh, that's nice and glossy :) Great line-up

:D

Worth it though to have a reliable car:) Do I see a Mazda there?

Another way of looking at it: there aren't too many knives out there better than that Guard so you're unlikely to come across one, budget or no budget:D

Regards, Will

Great stuff Ron, heirloom indeed (leave it to me:D)

All you need now for your country's national holiday is a horn handled fork so you can eat the Turkey in style

Thanks, Will
