Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

If you like those (Pepperidge Farm Chessmen), you should like Walker's shortbread cookies from Scotland. Flour, butter, sugar, salt--these four, no more.

I used to take those out winter mountaineering in Scotland, when you need a biscuit that'll stick to your ribs! :D

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you Jack. Carry on Jack!:)

JohnDF JohnDF Prester John Prester John - Nice images, Gents.

@flatblackcapo - Wishing you the best thoughts, Kevin.

Good Morning Guardians.

Thanks pal, great pic of your AC :)

I've been looking for another Sheffield Lambfoot and this was on a post I'd found on Instagram.. I been looking for something similar to the A Wright Buffalo Horn that I have!View attachment 1250264 View attachment 1250265

Thanks for the pics Taz

What a strange concept for a puzzle & I've never heard of slab headed screws until now. I guess heated phillip heads didn't transfer too well. :( Game must have been invented by some carpenter with lots of screws and too much idle time, some snowy winter. Made a game for his kids at Christmas and it went viral. :) Pretty cool knife backdrop, though dubious as a game IMHO. Thanks for the explainin' Harvey.

Good evening Guardians! :)

Thanks Ray. My guess is that Set Screw & Mfg. used it as a promotion to hand out to clients. This genre of puzzles wasn’t uncommon in them olden days. Harrumph!

Good evening Guardians! :)

Fine as wine Ron :)

Now I'm curious!

It's not entirely typical of the series, but my favourite is Carry On Screaming :D

Morning Guardians, hope everyone's week is going well so far. Plenty to do today, and I'll be doing it with my Hartshead Barlow ;) Just starting the day with some toasted malthouse sourdough :)

Morning Guardians, I'm a little late posting this morning as my pal came round and took me out for breakfast :) Thought I'd go with my ebony '18 for Friday 13th. Have a good day folks

Your ebony is looking very fine, Jack!:cool::thumbsup: (Am I remembering correctly that the background is a colorful chair?)

...
Here's a Silver flask my Wife's Grandfather carried in WW2, posed with my trusty '19 Ironwood. I'm very proud to have the flask, along with his issued Ruck sack and a small fixed blade I've shown elsewhere. He sounded like quite the man, though I never had the pleasure of meeting him.

JU8yl7x.jpg
Great pic of your ironwood with a fantastic family heirloom, Mark!:cool::cool:

Been laid up lately and just attempting to catch up with the Guardians. Health issues are the pits. Moving forward to the Christmas Holiday. Got a lot of shopping to do yet.
I hope you're on your feet again soon, Bill! ;)

Thanks for showing your 2-blade lambsfoot, ED!:thumbsup::cool:

...
It's been a while since I posted in this thread, and I hate to drop in just to make a silly joke, so here's some lambsfoot content to go with it. :D Jack Black Jack Black gifted me this excellent bottle opener a while back (it's probably been a couple years now). I finally got around to mounting it somewhere (basement wall, near the beer fridge... obviously ;)), so I thought I'd show it off here with my Hartshead Barlow. Thanks again, Jack!

Those rosewood HHB lambsfoots certainly look like trustworthy tools!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks to each one of you for the kind words and encouragement! It does mean a lot! Still working on it, sure knocks all my energy out!...

Sorry for all the horrible puns...just keeping a sense of humor, albeit corny!
Speeking of flasks, my camping / hiking flask and Big-un..

So how much does an 8 week old morky pup ( maltese and yorkshire terrier cross :) ) plus a lambsfoot knife weight ? :) ...
2 pounds and 4.9 ounces

Cool pic, Dan, although my wife was uncomfortable seeing a puppy on a cutting board!:D:cool:

I hope y’all had a good day! :) Been totin this Horn Senator today! :)

Morning Guardians, hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Think we're just going out for some lunch, and to do a bit of shopping. Taking Miss Lucy out for the day :)

A luscious lunch with that lovely lass Lucy sounds laudable, Jack!:cool::cool:

Good Morning Guardians.
Youngest is in LA for his final audition this weekend... fingers crossed.
...
You never know where the TARDIS will show up...
Best wishes for your son's audition, John.:)
Your ebony lamb fits right into the Nativity scene with the livestock, John, but the TARDIS seems to "mix metaphors".:D

Our Cocker Spaniel was a week old when we got him, his mom had parvo and we were just trying to help them out by bottle feeding him.....he wound up staying! Only survivor out of 5 pups.

Cool shot of your stag HHB SFO, Dennis! Looks like Henry not only survived, but he's thriving!:thumbsup::cool:

He's 21.
He is just very nervous about the whole driving thing.
...
I'm glad I learned to drive out in the country where I could master the mechanics of driving my own vehicle with few worries about the "yahoos" in other cars.

I'm headed up to Portland, Oregon tomorrow for some supposedly "Ivory Tower", best in the world oral surgeons and won't be posting, or even taking my laptop, for the next few days so, my remedy is to post this group shot of some of my Lambfoot knives to tide everyone over while I'm gone.

gunDWgO.jpg
Great group shot, ED!:thumbsup::cool: I hope the medical stuff goes well and that eventually you can put the ongoing ordeal behind you.

While I'm here, are there any new Guardians who need/want to be added to The Map? Just let me know!
Good to see you here again, Barrett! :)
Can you please move me to someplace warm for the winter??

...
Today, almost everyone calls these 'crumpets', but up until the 1980's, 50% of the country, including most of the North, called them 'pikelets', which is what they're still called round at Grumble Towers ;) Have a great Sunday folks

XbHrcjc.jpg
Nothing beats hot toasted crumpets with butter and raspberry jam! Drippy messy goodness. That HHB is also pretty scrumptious ;)
Interesting terminology that has appeared here before, but I'd forgotten until Jack's reminder. Mike, does anyone in Canada call them English muffins, which I'm quite sure is the most common term in the US?

Thank you for all your kind words and compliments Gary :) In terms of imbibing alcohol on the hill, a small nip added to your coffee probably makes little difference either way, but consuming larger amounts not only makes you more susceptible to hypothermia, it makes the symptoms harder to spot, and of course, if you've been drinking you're more likely to have an accident. Better to wait until you're back in the pub  Sat round the fire roasting sausages at a mid-Winter street party, a shot of rum may not actually increase my body temperature (actually quite the reverse), but it sure tastes good ;) :D

Your Black Jack is looking lovely, and that's a nice seasonal pic of your Union Jack my friend
Thanks for the supportive remarks about the lambsfoot pics I posted, and for the alcohol/temperature advice. :)

Don't forget GT, these are Canadian Blue Jays and very polite :D

Beautiful '18, GT. :cool::thumbsup:

What a great festive picture. Well done, GT. :)
Thanks, John. :) You're my inspiration for pulling out some holiday lambsfoot shots.:cool::thumbsup:

For GT. I did see that, here is pic from a while ago.

Thanks for your encouragement about my knives. :)

I'm not doing very good on replying to quotes right now, please forgive me. I do read and enjoy them but just having a hard time keeping up with life at the moment.

Morning Guardians, hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, and that your week gets off to a good start. Mine is starting with my Hartshead Barlow ;)

I tried to take out the other non lambfoot, so please excuse his photobombing! This K'roo is in the running for my knife of the year. I've done so much exchanging of knives this year that it is hard to look back and pick something that has stuck (so many of the ones I carried most have moved on to new homes), but this one is a keeper, God willing and the creek don't rise!
