Morning Guardians. Going with the pocket brick two blade lambsfoot today.
The 2-blade lambsfoots intrigue me, Mike! I appreciated your evaluative comments in a later post.

The local news broadcast on TV, as well as some internet sites, are constantly promoting "what's trending" currently. You can be sure that I don't become aware of these trends until they've almost completely run their courses!

As an example, apparently Pocket Watch Wednesday was a thing this week that I only became aware of today!

Cool theme you started,
JohnDF
!

All the watch photos inspired me to do one with my Grandfather's railroad watch. He was an engineer on the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad way back in the 1920's and 30's.

The watch and chain were given to my late Father years ago by my late Mother's uncle, other than that nobody ever knew anything more about it, it does run but I don't know how to adjust it.
Like Bill, I have a Waltham watch passed down by a railroad man; my grandfather's uncle got the watch while working on some Illinois railroad in the early 20th century, passed it on to my grandfather, who passed it to my Dad, who gave it to me a few years ago. It has Roman numerals on the face like Tim's watch does.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

Today’s breakfast from yesterday’s Deerfield Bakery breakfast.

Exemplary ebony lambsfoot, Harvey (and some delectable eats)!

...
The pea shoots have finally poked their little heads out of the ground. It might get down to 32 degrees overnight, so we'll have to see if I need to replant this weekend.
...
Amazing that you've got sprouts emerging already, Rachel!

Are they still viable, or did they freeze?
...
Gala apples, my favorite's too Jack.
...
Thanks for the apple lore, Dan!

Can you actually recognize apple varieties by sight?? Another example of how "in touch with nature" you are!

I have to read the signs in the store to determine which apple is which. I usually buy Gala (or Fuji), and my wife prefers Honey Crisp. I tried a Pink Lady apple I bought on sale recently, and it seemed very good.
Hi all. I just wanted to drop a photo of my new Waynorth Lambsfoot I received yesterday. Was lucky enough to find a dealer with one left.
...
Congrats on procuring such an outstanding knife, and for posting an excellent photo!!

I can't believe there was one still available from a dealer so long after the release date!!
Thanks for the insight, GT.

It's an antique toy pistol that my Father-in-Law used to have hanging on his wall.
I love Disneyland, and mostly Pirates of the Caribbean, so I enjoy having it around. Thought it made an interesting backdrop.
I'm sure I was not thinking it was a toy pistol!

Thanks for the info.

Good stuff

The edge was sharp I think, just not very pretty
Thanks again buddy

Nice pic of your pristine Man Jack, and I like the key fob

Great to see more of the Man Jack

Hope everyone is having a good day. Completely contrary to the weather forecast, it has actually been a pretty nice day here so far, cold, but sunny
Thanks for your thoughtful replies, Jack, including the compliments about Man Jack.

Eventually, I'll have to try to even out the grind on my rosewood HHB, but for now, it performs admirably!

Pretty sunny by me the past 3 days, but probably the coldest-feeling 3-day stretch so far this winter; the wind has been brutal, especially while walking into it, of course.
Jake has gone to work with me
everyday this week.
Good ol' Jake
Needs a break!

Just received this Hartshead Rosewood Barlow. I was trolling the sales pages on another forum and pounced on the knife. When these first came out I was late getting to my e-mail and missed out on the Rosewood, at only twenty made they did not last long, which is understandable. Nearly dropped my phone a few times in anticipation of trying to make the sale complete. What a result! I did not think to ever see one of these up for sale, that made my day even week at that point. Yay!!

Congrats on picking up one of those rare and very handsome rosewood lambsfoot HHBs, Russell! To me, it looks like a very classic, vintage design!

My A. Wright lambsfoot arrived also, the thing has a bear of a pull and was very dull upon receipt, but I remedied that edge quickly thereafter. Much smaller than I thought, but quite well made, and nice looking wood on the handles!
Congrats on the eye-catching ebony on your Wright lambsfoot!

LOL! I think you mentioned that phrase once before; I like it. I had the misfortune to accidentily watch some UK news yesterday. I think "Panic and run about hysterically" would be a more appropriate phrase for us these days.
York and Liverpool are two
very different cities. York has it's problems but Liverpool is one of the UK's (if not western Europe's) most violent city's and is getting worse on an annual basis. So long as the college is aware of that and prepares and provides for it's student's accordingly.
This was Wednesday's excursion up into our Peak District.
...
David, "Panic and run about hysterically" reminds me of the local weather forecasters' reactions whenever they spy a "cloud the size of a man's hand" on the western horizon!
Thanks for your take on York/Liverpool. I certainly hope the college has done due diligence before making a change in location, but I have no personal knowledge of who has done what in that regard.
I was surprised to read in a later post that you were trying to hike through knee deep snow. That can be an exhausting task, even when there's some blue sky above!
...
I'm glad you're managing Dylan

I know first-hand, the teenage years can be difficult, my eldest girl wasn't bad,
but the youngest two!

...
Maybe they had aspirations of being "chips off the old block"!

More Man Jack (apologies if I've posted this pic already this week):
